The ability to talk together and enjoy the conversation, and still be able to understand what the other means even in a quick hug. The patience of knowing how crazy life can be, and therefore enjoying time spent together even more. Little things, like IM's or e-mails just to see what's up. Being silly together, and not caring if other people look at you funnily if you both bring up or continue an inside joke, or sing a song together if it is on the radio. I also like it when a guy can share how he feels, or like last week my boyfriend told me after I kissed him for the first time, he said the next day, "My brain was kind of whoosh for the rest of the day." Those little things are really sweet!

Honesty and consideration for other people are paramount. Responsible, calm, and conscientious. It's also a huge plus if he doesn't care what people think about his decisions or feelings as long as they are right for him. I want him to make friends based on who he IS, not who he can pretend to be. He should be able to trust me, and let me do things the way I like to do them, and I will return the favor. He has to want sex as much (or more) than I do, and it can't be the same old stuff all the time. Show me you want me- don't wait around for me to make the move.

Looks don't necessarily matter as long as they don't pose health issues. But if you happen to skateboard or do any other extreme sports, as well as have all the qualities listed above, be ready for me to pounce.

Granted, I have been dating the same guy for two and a half years and he doesn't meet all the characteristics that I listed, but I STILL love him very much and we STILL have a lot of fun and I can see the relationship still working many years down the road. So just because someone doesn't complete your list doesn't mean you can't be happy anyway.
