Sadly, I do believe it is unofficially moving that direction. Not there yet, but possible in our lifetimes - if we allow it.

As far as America being a theocracy, there are so many atheists who are in churches and are remaining silent, that it is impossible to tell how real our theocracy is.

But yes, in a nominal way, we have a theocracy. We should be embarrassed as a nation maybe.

No. usa is unofficially an Idiocracy. There are idiots on the left and proper and all Republicans and Democrats and anybody who helps them are additionally idiots. If usa became actual run by way of "the folk" as a replace of political events that are offered off by way of social activity communities, businessmen, protection rigidity people, and left-wing and proper-wing nutjobs, then it can be a larger country.

Not really.

It just has some issues with the people at the top right now.

It will get sorted in the end, and they will be in the dustbin of history. They will be remembered in the same wasy as McCarthy - ie with shame and a little embarassment.

I think it's wishful thinking more than anything else but I do fear that sometimes that's the route in which it's heading.

Hopefully once the democrats get in power next year the tide will shift to a more secular viewpoint.

No, my friend.

Were America a theocracy in any way, you would see evidence of it in your every day life, and it would never escape you.

We're heading that way, I have to admit, but no, in absolutely no way are we a theocracy as of now.

No, but if you knew God, you'd understand that this country was settled and it's constitution was created by people that trusted God. Not trusting the belief in God, only the truth of God.

God is not a belief. If our founding fathers hadn't trusted God there wouldn't have been a settlement, no Declaration of Independence, and without those there would never have been any freedom afforded by our constitution and government.

I suggest that your distrust our government, is linked to your distrust of God. He is the revealer of all truth.

No it is controlled by people who are laughing at you while you fight over who is wrong or right for believing in God while they rob us all blind and slowly create a one world government where you and I are the slaves of the NEW WORLD ORDER

No. While some religious groups do wield influence in politics, they do not represent the mainstream of American political thought, nor do we want them to. Everything has to have balance.

First I have heard of it. Bush may want it that way but it is just wishful thinking on his part and the rest of the fundies.
