This question gets asked all the time, yes, but the answers aren't always the same.

Science just makes too much sense to me, and so much of the Bible plays off like a soap opera. (ie "the crows cawed three times and Peter wept.") With science, they try to enlighten you with the latest information, but with the churches they seem to conceal so much information. With such a secretive society, how is it that anyone outside of religion can see the light?

"The bottom line answer is this: because if you think that things that are real aren't real, that makes you delusional."

Or, if you think that things are real that aren't real, that makes YOU delusional. I guess you'll spend your time worthlessly serving an imaginary deity like a lap dog. Have fun!

To answer the question, there is no reason to believe in God. If you actually LOOK at the world around you and you see all the suffering, all the deformed or mentally handicapped children, the pain of childbirth and the wrath of nature, the TV show Kyle XY, all of these things prove that there must be no God. At least, not a god worth following. Also, look at all the holes in the Bible. Noah's Ark--where a guy supposedly built a ship big enough to carry two of EVERY single animal on the planet (including subspecies, since there was no evolution, remember?), and the story of Job, where God decided to take all his children and his wife and his house and his lifestock because of a bet with Satan, and so on. Finally, while the Big Bang theory and evolution are not complete yet, they do explain a whole lot about how the universe formed and thrived.

This is a very good question, many people probably wonder the same thing. I will start my answer by saying, I am a Christian. I have chosen to believe in God before science. I believe in science also ; however, NOT in the same context that I believe in God.
The fact of science exists, we study the earth and all that's in it, and yes it's very interesting. Science has, given us many answers to puzzling questions, cured diseases, and helped people loose weight etc.
So in that context science is true and useful.
Science however, even though it tries, cannot truly answer the most important questions in our lives as individuals. Such as who we are, or why we are here. Questions like these can only be answered by the one that designed us. Yes, I said designed. Science, for example, can tell us about the mechanics of reproduction, but science cannot tell us how or why this takes place, why does a human seed and egg comes together and makes a beautiful baby, another human being with a personality that loves and is loved. Or why just our planet has the perfect atmosphere to sustain oxygen and life. Science cannot explain why we love, laugh, cry, and fear. Science talks about instinct, but where did we get "instincts"? What gives us the ability to know and feel these things? I could ask a thousand questions that science cannot answer, so why is it that science is considered so full of knowledge?
God is our creator, and He is the reason we exist, HE is the one who put all these things into place. Science just studies the mechanics of it all without grasping the actual meaning.
As far as the Bible being like a soap opera, YES it is not only a very large letter to us from God, but it is a history of his people. An imperfect people full of troubles and joys and...well...LIFE! I don't know a single person who's life at some point has not been like a soap opera. That's what the Bible is (among many other wonderful things). I would take God's word full of excitement, mystery and love any day over a Science book filled with facts about how it all works ( Wouldn't you rather drive the car instead of only studying about how it works?). Do I believe that the Bible is fact? YES with many more answers than any science book could hold.
As far as the church being a secret society...well, I'm not sure what church you have attended, but the ones I have been to make that "secret" available to anyone who seeks for it, and so does God. As far as mystrery, YES God and all that's his holds alot of mystery, and I don't know about you, but I love it, and I love knowing that one day I will know all those mysteries and be a part of them! Praise GOD!!

Now I have a question, can science answer where you go when you die? Yes, one day we will all die .Science denies that their is life after death, but just because someone denies something doesn't mean it isn't true.
I KNOW where I'm going when I die. Am I scared? I used to be, but science wasn't the one that took away my fear.
Yes, science is useful and interesting, but God and Christ Jesus are much MUCH more. Don't live your life without them.

Just look around at the sky, trees, animals, sunshine, rain, and the breaths you take. How do you think they became?
God created it all, and the scientist don't have all those answers, by no means. How else could everything come to be? There has even been proof in Jerusalem. Also the scients were created to have a brain, who gave it to them and the knowledge to use it.===

Believe in a religion wherein Science is the work of God. You won't be in the dark anymore.

The bottom line answer is this: because if you think that things that are real aren't real, that makes you delusional.

Of course, there's always the reality that when you die you'll get to meet Him in person (so to speak).

People use the fact that most people believe in a god. But the fact that Bush's approval rating is 27% doesn't make them want to impeach Bush. Logic is not their strong suit.

Christians would tell you they believe that people need a supernatural bone in their body before they are complete. It's a question of finding meaning in life or what they would call meaning.

Why are you asking us, ask Klaku or whatever his or her name is. She appears to know before hand what a christian will say and think. Psychic perhaps?
