I woke up this morning with a very sore throat so I took tylenol at around 11:30. However, tonight is our semi-formal, and while I do not intend to get "wasted" I would like to drink a little. Will this be okay?

The liver processes both alcohol and acetaminophen also called Tylenol. Processing both at the same time is very hard on the liver and has killed some people. Unless you overdose, Tylenol generally is given 4 hours in your system. The directions give an advised limit for hourly and daily consumption. Alcohol is usually given about an hour per drink. Take both facts into consideration. Whichever you consume first gets priority.

If you consume a normal amount of Tylenol at 11:30, then you should be able to consume a moderate amount of alcohol by some time after 3:30.

Be careful.

I would like to say that you probably should never mix stuff like this, however, since you say tonight, I would take a guess and say its fine because the tylenol should be worn off by then. Read the bottle and see how long the tylenol is supposed to last for, or how many to take in a day, it should be simple math. ;)

from what i've heard, tylenol and alcohol when combined are really bad for your liver. if you accidentally took it once im sure it wouldn't cause irreversible damage. but if you took them together regularly it wouldn't be very good.
