. . . and you start a nice, roaring fire, does said ghost just squeeze up against the interior of the chimney while the fire blazes? I'm worried about little Casper.

wow! you have a ghost living in your chimney. i envy your greatly. I don't think he would burn because its a ghost. If ne thing he would either enjoy the fire because its warm or he could leave the chimney. You can make a fire he would be okay with that. Whos ghost is it. I'm very interested in this.

i hope everything goes well.

Ghosts are insubstantial, and thus unaffected by heat or cold. In addition, unless the ghost is fairly unusual, it could probably leave the fireplace entirely to go somewhere else in the house.

You don't need to worry about the fire, a ghost could go through the front door. When the fire is over, he could return home.

you have a ghost in your fire place? I believe in tht stuff so i could help u out. ghosts, if they are intelligent, come and go when they please. they are not materialized all the time. if the ghost decides to materialize when the fire is going, then that's his choice. but if you want to make a cozy fire, make sure your ghost is not a hostile one. it may hold a grudge!

Well if you are being serious and not just makeing fun of the paranormal then the ghost should just come out before you start it then when the coals are cool he will go back in and resume what he was doing.

No, he can dance in the flames and enjoy the hot air rising and float in it feeling very comfortable.

See Miyazaki's "Howl's Moving Castle" and the living fire there (and you could also read Diana Wynne Jones' book of the same title, as the film is taken from that).

A fireplace ghost is in the fireplace because it likes warmth. Or the pretty flames.

I'm sure the fire will not affect Casper. He doesn't care whether it is burning or not.
