How am I supposed to know? The bible says "soon", but it's been 2000 years, so obviously the definition of soon is wrong, or what everyone believes is wrong.
Actually, Jesus said a whole bunch of things would happen in "this generation" back then, and apparently those things didn't happen (Matthew 24, Mark13, Luke 21). So either Jesus was wrong, and isn't the Son of God, and therefore Christianity is a fraud! OR, he was right, but our interpretation of all those events are completely off!

I don't think the Christian version is ever going to happen.
However, I DO think that the "rapture" experienced by don Juan Matus and his party in the books by Carlos Castaneda is what Man is ultimately evolving toward.
