I looked at your link, but it was over long and dealt with some minor points of semantics. The missionaries didn't explain themselves as well as they might have done. The "Christian guy" made the point that if they all believed in the Bible they ought to be having a great conversation. No so. People can all believe in the Bible but interpret it differently.
He also accused the missionaries of believing in Joseph Smith rather than Jesus Christ. OF COURSE the missionaries believe in Jesus Christ - it says so on their badges. The two things are not mutually exclusive.
As to Mormon's [sic] being rediculous [sic] and uneducated, I take exception to that. The church emphasises the importance of education. I have a degree, as does my (Mormon) husband, and he scored the highest mark IN THE WORLD in his accountancy qualification exams. My IQ is 142, his is 165. My sister has a masters degree in Biblical Hebrew. We know our scriptures.
I believe in Jesus Christ AND the Bible AND Joseph Smith AND the Book of Mormon.

The Mormons are trying not to offend the guy, and he just wants to argue.
Not much of a discussion going on there.
And for the record, Mormons believe in Jesus Christ, the Bible, Joseph Smith AND the Book of Mormon.

As far as being "uneducated"; you could say the same thing about any religion. In fact (a small tangent) I just saw an article where all the South eastern states have a less then 85% High school graduation on time rate. And this is the area where protestants/ baptists are huge. You be the judge.
I will say that most Mormons in the military are officers.
As for being ignorant in their own religion, well, you'd have to be in the religion to see that fairly.

I believe in Jesus Christ and the Bible AND Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. As for us being "rediculous and uneducated," we are not. And you should learn how to spell correctly.

This is not a case of "or" but "and". If it were worded that way then the answer would be appropriately and truthfully yes.
As far as the link to the video that you love the man in the video was contentious and argumentative. It is very apparent that that was planed and that they planned on trying to make the missionaries look like fools, and I challenge you to find any of Christ's teachings that support that kind of attitude. I will save you some time, You won't find it. Christ taught about being loving, caring, patient, and long suffering towards all mankind. in further response to that video, I have a question for you. Can you honestly tell me that, when confronted with a person as intimidating and argumentative, being rude and cutting them off in the middle of there sentences, and just overall antagonistic as that man was, that you could be calm and collected, be able to think clearly? Before you answer top all of that off with being caught unprepared and facing at least 3 large and boastful men and probably a 4th as well, now with all of those factors tell me that you could be at your best? Here is another question for you regarding that video and the great Christan examples shown in it. How many sentences were allowed to be finished and how many were cut off and by whom?
As far as my take on the Missionary at the end telling the man that the conversation was over and that they were leaving. That is simple. As I have already hinted at that man had no actual interest in the church and was only interested in condemning our beliefs. Missionaries are not sent out to get into arguments with those who are not interested in joining the Church. They are sent out to find those whom the Lord has prepared to receive His Gospel and I would say that by the time that 6 minutes was up that anyone could tell the men who were video taping that conversation had absolutely no desire to even have a civilized discussion about our beliefs. They were only interested in arguing. So the Missionary was simply doing what he was sent out to do. Use his time to find those whom God has prepared.
Please do not be so prejudice as to call all of us "rediculous and uneducated" just because two 19 to 21 year old missionaries could not properly answer someone who would not have cared what they said no matter how accurate it may have been, and whose only apparent goal was to demean, degrade, and belittle those whom he was talking with. The Christ I know does not support in any way those kind of actions, and if that is an example of what you feel Christ taught, then please go ahead and continue telling people that we do not believe in the same Christ as you.

Mormons are "ridiculous" and undecuated?
1. You have a false dichotomy. Mormons believe in Jesus Christ, And the Bible, And the Book of Mormon. Everyone must believe in Joseph Smith, as he has a Birth and Death certificate. He was real. The only question is whether or not he was a prophet.
2. Regarding education. It's "ridiculous", not "rediculous". The plural of Mormon is "Mormons", not "Mormon's". If you claim to be educated, please write as if you were.
3. Please don't confuse a closed mind with an educated evaluation.

I am Mormon. I believe that Jesus is the Christ, Savior and Redeemer. I also believe in the Bible. I believe that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, and it is a companion scripture to the Bible.
Oh, and LOL about the link.

We believe in God the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. We believe the Bible to be the word of God, so far as it is translated correctly. We believe Joseph Smith was given the Book of Mormon to translate for those of us living in the latter days. So, you say it has to be one or the other? We disagree. So did Moses, I am sure, since he didn't have the Bible either, or Abraham, or Isaiah, or even Christ.

It is entertaining that in calling Mormons "rediculous and uneducated" that you misspell the word "ridiculous." Less entertaining is the fact that your question violates Yahoo! Answers community guidelines.
