Now I'm no theist, but this is likely the best evidence I've heard concerning a creator.
The masses of several subatomic particles such as up and down quarks, electrons, neutrinos, and the strengths of different forces such as the strong nuclear force and the electroweak, have certain, seemingly fundamental values, that if they were altered even a small amount relative to the size of their current value, life as we know it could not exist.
The only satisfactory resolution of this I have heard is that there may be multiple universes each with different values. In fact, the same mathematical theory that predicted then confirmed these values also predicts the existence of multiple universes. Any thoughts?

Well, Hasan, you do have a point, but it's difficult to imagine any kind of life arising in a universe where, lets say, gravity is stronger or electromagnetism is weaker.

You've not demonstrated how this is evidence of a creator more so than any other happy coincidence that allows "life as we know it" to exist. In fact, that phraseology admit the possibility of other types of life under different circumstances, further negating the case for a creator.

"Sorry I was reading and had no clue what you are typing about. I don't agree with this."
How would you know? You admit you haven't the slightest idea what the asker is asking. Typical.

If you changed the charges and strengths of subatomic particles, not only could life not exist, -matter- could not exist! These forces are what hold matter together. It's like saying "What if we had an atmosphere but there weren't any gases in it?"
The idea of multiple parallel universes is the same. It's very interesting, but beyond just imagining these alternate universes, and what they might be like, and how they can exist, you can't really think intelligently about them because there is exactly zero evidence about them to go on. They are entirely theoretical, much like the existence of God himself.
I have heard people say they are predicted by higher mathematics, but I think even the math is theoretical. Anyway it's certainly beyond my own understanding.
It comes down to the idea that natural law proves the existence of a 'law giver'. And this is one of those 'proofs' of the existence of God that only convince someone who already believed in God in the first place. If you didn't believe in God before you heard it, it's very unsatisfying.
And also, if you find proof of 'intelligent design' in the universe, it doesn't really prove any particular religion. Creation Science was an attempt to prove the literal proof of Genesis. Intelligent Design is even stranger, the idea that the order and structure of the universe proves that there must have been a designer . . . and therefore Genesis is true!

If you bake a cookie and use a wrong type of flour it is no longer a cookie. Wow does that mean you become a God?
You obviously know a little about science but are demonstrating the worst thing a scientist can do - trying to prove something rather than testing it!!!
You either believe or you do not but using idle speculation to suggest a creator is self defeating as the vast majority of people including Christians will just laugh at it.
You either have faith or you do not!!!!

Ask a geometrician and he/she'll tell you that for a given dimension to exist without collapsing in upon itself, it must be upheld by another dimension. Infinitely. Or, you can postulate a certain finite number of dimensions, the whole being held in being by God.
Since we self-evidently LIVE and have our being in at least 4 dimensions (height, breadth, width and duration), one of the above MUST be true.
For atheists, postulating an infinite number of dimensions appears to be more appealing than a finite number upheld by an infinite Deity. The further back they push infinity, the happier they are.
Personally, I figure that infinity is big enough to hold both an infinite number of dimensions and an infinite Deity to keep them going.
A universe consists of a number of dimensions. Since this one obviously does NOT contain an infinite number there MUST be other universes. I suspect we do not possess the requisite sensory equipment ever to be aware of them, however. Probably just as well. It's entirely possible that at least one of them has REAL dragons.

Yea, this is the best evidence I've heard as well. Though it's still not very convincing to me.
The anthropic principle is at work here... if conditions were not that way, we would not be here to know about it. So, we are existing in the Universe that we CAN exist in.
Of course, even if we did believe this, the best we could hope for would be a kind of weak deism.

Yes. The trick with that creationists theory is:
It's not true. And Booth: The universe is far
from fine-tuned for life. Actually if the universe
is supposed to be fine-tuned for life it's the
worst created piece I've ever seen in my life.

If the position of the earth wasn't exactly where it is in relation to the sun, we wouldn't be here, either. And, the tilt of the earth makes the different seasons happen, which helps us grow food. And, the speed of everything that moves through our solar system is perfect. I don't see how anybody could question that this whole thing was designed by an intelligent creator. Our God is an awesome God.

Well, we're only here because of those values. So if they were different we wouldn't be here to comment on them. Or, it is possible that had they been different, another kind of life would have emerged, and maybe commented on how fine-tuned they were to their existence. And of course, the multiple-universe theorem would neatly resolve that.

This is where Einstein found evidence for Pantheism. The "fine tuning" is not so delicate as the Creationists make it out to be. They often talk of million-fold changes as small.

Any thoughts, yes my brains hurts after reading that.. erm the only only thing of I can say is that ive just read Dawkins, The God Delusion and he articulates a pretty good explaination of what ive thought about god my whole life. Read it, it may just change your life.
Other than that the only other thing I can say is that Donnie Darko was pretty good film.
