Micro would be specific (eg. a sinlge individuals) response to the advertising ... for example, a person is more likely to buy cold/flu medicine when they personally have a cold or the flu)

Macro would be the 'overall' response .. for example, more cold/flu medicine is sold during the autumn / winter ...

Macro is wider. Has indirect influence on everyone not just me. Example: Government regulations, rainy day

Micro: Are more specific. Direct affecting me. Example: Strike, good management expertise.
