Well according to many religions if you're good heaven, if you're bad hell. Some others say we are reincarnated. I think it's hell or heaven, but I have not died before so it's quite a grey area.

When we die, we go to the Spirit World to await the resurrection. There we are divided into paradise and spirit prison. The righteous, those who were trying to do the right thing and lived without the law are in Paradise. Those who chose evil are sent to spirit prison where they have to pay for their sins. This is the Hell referred to by many.

After the resurrection we are all judged. Those who rejected the Father and the Son and lived wicked lives are assigned to a world like the one we live in for eternity. Those who accept the Son, but not the fullness of the Father go to a world much like the Garden of Eden for eternity. Both of these groups are individuals and do not live as families and have limited ability to progress.

Then those who accepted the fullness of the Gospel, and embraced the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and had all the earthly ordinances that are required done, including baptism by immersion by one who has the authority, Temple ordinances, and who were married in the Temple for time and all eternity, are sent to the highest kingdom where they will progress forever.

Our flesh will return to dust while the spirit of life gave by God will return to Him.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Ecclesiastes 12:7
King James Version

But, there will come a time that all dead will live again to face judgment day.

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice ,
John 5:28
King James Version

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
John 5:29
King James Version

The Spirit "Returns to the True God"The Bible states that when a person dies, "the spirit itself returns to the true God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) Does this mean that a spirit entity literally travels through space into God's presence? Not at all! Similarly, at death no actual movement from the earth to the heavenly realm occurs when the spirit "returns" to God. Once the life-force is gone from a person, only God has the ability to restore it to him. So the spirit "returns to the true God" in the sense that any hope of future life for that person now rests entirely with God.

What happens to the spirit when a person dies? Psalm 146:4 says: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish." When a person dies, his impersonal spirit does not go on existing in another realm as a spirit creature. It "returns to the true God who gave it." (Ecclesiastes 12:7) This means that any hope of future life for that person now rests entirely with God.

That choice is up to you.
You can be reborn, if your not already..spiritually, since you do have a spirit.
Hell was not made for you, only satan/his angels.
Purgatory does not exist, being that after you die, your chance is null and void..salavation is for today.
Read your good book, it does have the answers.
And its very relevant and historicial, if anyone thinks its all a myth, let em fly to Isreal, and see the real country.
That argument is so full of holes, its worse than swiss cheese.

Our spirit, just finds a fresh body, that we will feel comfortable with in our next life. Our spirit often leave our body in our sleep, to enter the spiritual realm, only to return to our body before we wake. That is why dreams can seem so real, because they are, but in the spiritual realm. At death our spirit also leaves its body, but craves to return again to a body. Reincarnation, keeps us in the only reality that counts, the one that is in this universe. I don't believe in creating alternative realities for after-lives. We need to focus on contributing positively, to addressing the very serious problems of this world, because any character we gain from facing this reality head on, will serve us well in our next life in a similar reality. God will treat well, those who contribute positively to this reality, no matter what they believe.
