By all means no. Although this is a very good issue that you've raised here, it is still no reason to prejudge a religion because SOME people associate Islam with terrorism. As a muslim (I am also one) I think it is vital to be able to generate the image of peace that is the truthness within islam. It is wrong to say that ALL Americans do associate islam with terrorism.
If you think about it logically, in a way we Muslims give ourselves a bad image and bring our own selves down. We have a fragile reputation and we only make it worse with our rash actions.
Another reason you shouldn't associate the KKK with christianity is because the KKK was only 1 radical group within the religion of christianity. ALL religions have radical groups as do we, but its important to not let these radicals get out of hand as did the KKK.
Plus...just because someone believes something about you doesn't mean you have to as well. You must show these people who judge that islam is a choice and that a person is muslim (or christian or jew or athiest) because they like that religion and find that that path of faith applies the most to them.
In a nutshell...it is not right to judge

You could argue that since the KKK is considered a big joke in today's society, it's not at all something to compare with the terrorism that exists with Islamic extremists. We read about suicide bombs on a daily basis, but we don't read much about the KKK anymore. They're just backwards losers who don't pose much of a threat, mostly because they're incompetent douche bags. So no, you shouldn't associate the KKK w/Christianity in the same way that Americans associate terrorism with Islam. I definitely see the correlation (especially because both Islamic extremists and the KKK are terrorists whose core beliefs do NOT match the religions they claim to be theirs), but I don't think you should associate either with religions. Just associate both with evil and leave it at that.

because people try to understand what they want to know about islam in general for what they see in TV and what they hear. That is wrong muslims call to peace and they dont tend to be bad people it's totaly the oppisite . Muslims love to live thier life and have fun although where ever we are we respect other people and have I high level of hospitality. We like to have great connections with other cultures and neighbors. (islam) is not the problem the people are the problem b\c they dont understand what islam is really about . So these terrorists are those kind of people and there only a small part of the muslim sociaty.

Good point, but neither are using peoper logic. You judge people or organizations by their actions. It is only natural. But not the splinter groups. You cannot make the leap and be correct.
The people of Islam are Abraham's children. So are the Jews. Maybe the brothers should figure out that they better get together and not cause so much grief to their common God. Maybe the Christians should do the same!

Dont forget about the IRA good old catholic boys who shot a policeman yesterday
or the ulster defence the good old protestants they managed to kill nearly 4000 people in this conflict.
At least the goverment did not go into the country and kill hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens in the cause of democracy.
do agree with you but its a sign of the time 30 yrs ago young Irish males would be routinely stopped as they fitted the typecast to be a potential terrorist After world war two it was the Jewish that would be most likely to be the bombers

As sallamu 'alaikym, my friend.
Insha'Allah, as the Klu Klux Klan was a Christian fundamentalist organization that is now united to the white supremest/neo Nazi groups in the United States and Europe, as well as Australia, the answer is "Yes!"
To those misguided and ill informed individuals who say that "not all Muslims are terrorist but all terrorist are Muslims", please tell me which Muslim extremist group was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombings, and the many attacks on abortion clinics and medical personnel throughout this country, the bombing of black southern Baptist churches during the sixties....etc. I also did not realize that David Koresh and Branch Dravidian's were Muslims. Do you need this list of "terrorist acts" to go on further so as to stimulate your memory?
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see and if you do not learn from history you are doomed to repeat it.
Ma'a salaam.

People have been enslaved under christianity, women killed in the name of chriistianity, islam has always waged war when it was waged against them ,we talk about 9/11 where a couple thousand died but we don't mention how many african and indians that have died under christianity it eclipses the damage islam extremists cause.
