Who was Stephen talking about in this passage and how were they persecuted by the people?

This is actually a two part question. There are the prophets and then the ones specifically in realtion to the Messiah. Please distinguish between the two. The first right answer gets 10 points.

I am looking for which prophets were persecuted? Who are the specific prophets that the Israelites persecuted and how?
Second Who are the prophets he refered to being killed when they prophesied the Messiah?

Stephan was talking about the council and was criticizing them about how they were not open to god working in their time and just continued doing as their forefathers had

zedekiah- he was generally a big poophead in 2nd chronicles
36 all the priests and clergy (fallowing his lead) ignored gods will -as they did later to stephen ( the class not the actual people)

Stephen, was talking about Samuel, and the prophets of old that they killed..I believe Samuel was beheaded. and he was talking about himself ,they stoned him death...
