well, it's going to depend on how many you eat, isn't it?

Typically diets say to keep your calorie count for the day around 1500 calories.
So, you can eat 10 items with 150 calories in them OR
Eat one meal that has 1500 calories in it. OR
three meals that only have 500 calories.
What I am saying is...if you think you can eat as many 150 calorie foods a day as you want, than no, you will not lose weight, it is the total intake for the day that counts. And you should exercise too, because muscle burns more calories than fat, so if you have more muscle than fat, your body will tend to burn more calories just in daily activities.
Keep track of what you eat all day long, look up their caloric value on the internet and see how you are doing.
I used ediets.com for a while, helped keep track...the only thing that was hard to remember to do was when you write everything you eat down - you have to write everything!! I mean, for example, you didn't just have 3 pancakes for breakfast this morning, you had a tablespoon of butter and a quarter cup of syrup too. All the things you add - oil, dressing, butter, toppings, sauces, etc. - have calories too and they can take you over the top of your 1500 calories for the day.
You might think eating a salad for lunch was healthy, but in fact, the dressing, croutons, avacado and other things in the salad sometimes make salads more calories than having a small sandwich with fruit.
Something to think about.

It depends on how MANY foods you eat! If you eat 20 foods that each have 150 calories, that's 3000 calories a day and you will never lose weight that way!
Strive for a diet of 1200 HEALTHY calories (whole grains, fruit, veggies) a day and get some exercise. That's how you lose weight.

This a page that my aunt used afterr quitting smoking which gained 200 pounds. Maybe you read this.
If you eat 100-150 calories or so every two hours, your body stays in a higher-metabolism digesting mode. This allows you to burn more calories than eating just 3 meals a day.
How to Eat and Lose Weight
Did you know that you can eat a lot and still lose weight? It sounds too good to be true, right? Here are some ways to make it happen. Eat a lot of healthy, low-fat foods rather than junk food. Adding a lot of vegetables and fruits to your diet will help you. Drink bouillon made with filtered water to help you feel full. Go ahead and have that donut or slice of pizza, but before you do, drink a few glasses of water and eat a bowl of raw veggies such as cucumbers, celery, carrots, and tomatoes. They will fill you up and you will have very little room to eat the "junk" food.
There are two things you eat and drink that contain no calories: water and fiber. The more of these you get into your diet, the better off you will be. For example, you can eat a pound of mixed salad greens with assorted raw vegetables (carrots, red cabbage, celery, broccoli, onion, etc.) with a low or no-calorie salad dressing and only have eaten 100-150 calories. This is because of the high water and fiber content of the salad and low calorie dressing.
Broth-based soups are a relatively low-calorie meal option. A commerically-available ready to eat "chicken and stars" soup may only have 80 calories for 1 serving, much less than diet "meal shakes" or nutrition bars.
Always use utensils and sit at the table. This stops you from descending into "binge hell" where you have your head in the fridge eating with your hands. Eat slowly and stop when you're full. If you can't stop then say "OK, I can't stop so that means I can't______." Fill in the blank with something you like to do other than eating. Maybe you can't put on make up, use the computer or go to town.
Exercise every day! Get your heart rate up and start out at 10 minutes then work your way up by adding 5 or 10 minutes each day.
Craving chocolate usually means you need more magnesium. Take the RDV of magnesium a day beyond what you would get from your food.
Tips
Avoid calorie dense, unhealthy food. Unhealthy food is food which contains calories, but little nutritional value. These calories are called "empty calories." You will probably be best served if you also avoid foods that would contain empty calories if they were not fortified with vitamin C (like some gummy bears) or calcium (like some cookies). Fortification with vitamins doesn't always make unhealthy food healthy.
Try to do a little bit at a time until you get used to it.
Get a friend to follow the diet with you. Sometimes, when following a diet by yourself, you'll break the rules because it's just you. But following it with a friend, you have a partner who will help keep you on track and responsible.
Expect to cheat or binge once in a while. (A word of caution: if you're binging more than once or twice a month, consider a different approach to your weight loss goals.) Don't despair when you realize you've strayed from your goals. It took you many years to achieve your current weight, and it will take time to achieve your new weight and size goal.
Warnings
You have to exercise and eat healthier, otherwise you may not notice any improvement and—even worse—you may gain weight. If you need to lose more than 10% of your body weight, consult with your primary-care physician before beginning any weight loss plan.

Basically, if you burn more calories than your body needs to run, you lose weight. The good range for healthy weight loss (1-2 lbs a week) for the average man is between 1500 -1700 calories a day and for a woman between 1200-1500 a day. if you only ate 150 calories per meal, even if you ate 6 times a day (small, frequent meals are reccomended for weight loss since it keeps your metabolism up) that would only put you at around 900 calories a day, it would be effective for wieght loss but would not be healthy, and you'd likely gain it back as soon as you stopped tracking calories. A very good and completely free resource for tracking calories burned and consumed is www.sparkpeople.com, and i personally have utilized it to lose more than 30 lbs myself. it's very helpful, very informative, and very supportive. Tracking calories can be very tedious but i think it's worth it in the long run, and if you do it correctly you definitely reap the rewards...

Depends on how many of those "150-calorie" foods you eat. Weight loss depends on total calorie intake.
I have a friend.who used to eat a can of diet fruit after eating a full meal at a buffet because she thought that would counter the calories she ate. Not true.

Um no. You need to work out. Good calories (not empty ones) are good for losing weight because they give you energy. You need energy to work out. You need to work out to lose weight. Plus your logic is stupid because you could eat 1231290 things that have less than 150 calories and it could add up to be a million times the reccomended daily intake.

I'm not so sure . It depends on your will power and the interest you take in this ,,,,From your question I feel that you have both these things.
To advice you...I think , being a male ...your daily intake should be around 1500 calories as this is approximately the amount of energy utilised by a young male..Thus in doing so the net energy accumulating in the body gets reduced ...and the chance of it being deposited in the body as fat is enormously decreased......If you can supplement it with a bit of exercise it is more than enough.....

It's likely, but it depends on HOW MANY servings of 150 calorie foods you consume, and the fat content of those foods.
