I bought component video and audio cables, but am unsure if these are right for my needs.

I have to hook up a 46 inch TV, Bose 3-2-1 and my cable box.

Im thinking component video will be from cable box to TV and audio will be from Bose receiver to TV.

Is this right? Thanks for your help

You need to run audio & video from the cable box to the TV so you can use the TV speakers for casual watching.

If your TV has audio outputs - then you can run audio back to the Bose system.

But check your cable box. You probably have several different audio outputs and can run a short wire to the Bose receiver straight from the box. A coaxial digital cable or toslink optical would be ideal.
