I run the mile for my school It's 4 because a mile is 1600 meters and a regulation track is 400 meters each lap.

The mile is 1,760 yards. A football field is 100 yards from goal line to goal line. I conclude that one would have to run the field 176 times to run a mile. Many football fields are circled by a 1/4 mile track. Four laps of such a track will equal a mile. Happy running.

It kinda depends but at my school it's 4 laps that make a mile. You could probably ask the gym teacher to be sure.
