No, it's no reference to meat or flesh, unless its a twisted metaphor(which I don't think it is)

In most languages, "meat" and "flesh" are the same word because there's no other word for "flesh" or there were no word for "meat". The only differences seems to come from English.

Well also means...
La Carne the Cristo. God, Religion and the meaning of life
The flesh of Christ...; Also means the unfaithful Man/woman. Like we say why you did it man? and they respond La carne, Week.

carne=meat/flesh
la carne=the meat/flesh
en la carne=in the meat(as in; an object in a steak or roast, for example)/in the flesh (as in; here in person).

"La carne" as another significate, but I can't explain it in english :P but is to make reference to LUST, something like: La carne es débil, that is what you'll say if when you cheat... Well I hope it helps

I have another idea...
Echar toda la carne al azador- To put all the meat on the grill
This is when you do your best to get all of your goals.
