I think it is kind of flattering. Depends on your approach and your comments of course. Women expect this kind of thing at parties or a club, so flirting in a public place like a park, museum, or store, is a little different. I like a quirky and humorous opening, or a slight compliment (not too personal) to get things started. If a girl is interested she will respond, if not hopefully she will let you know gently.
Recently, I kept bumping into the same guy in a grocery store. At the check-out he said, "If you will wait just a minute I will race you to the parking lot". I did, and we had a nice chat, didn't come to anything, but it was nice.

no I wouldn't like it, I believe in self confidence and all but there is a limit, flirting is for children, we can never be to cautious when it comes to strange men approaching us for any reason. and the same goes for strange women doing the same to a man, it's totally uncalled for.

Honestly, I'm sometimes flattered...but on the other hand I wonder how many women he is doing this too. Also, I'm wondering how he can be so blind as to not see all the bling on my left ring finger. Always check the womans hand first.

Well...depending. If he comes up and is generally interested in getting to know me and we start talking and stuff, yeah. But not if it's cheesy things or it's appearent that he doesnt care.

It is cute, as long as it is not stalker-pervert-creepy type flirting, then it is so far from cute, it makes me want to run. If a guy is sweet and respectful about it, it is flattering.

Chatting me up? If he's a hottie, I sure do. But the last guy who did that had some serious garlic breath.. I made a fast exit.

All depends on whether I like him and how he goes about it. In general I think it could make a girl feel uncomfortable it he lays it on too thick.
