The altima will probably last longer. Retail value might stay the same. I would go with the reliability of nissan.

i would go with the nissan altima it will last you years my dad is a mechanic and ford mustangs are a frequent visitors and the altima will get better gas milage trust me The nissan is better. and not as expensive 2 work on

id get the Nissan because it will last a lot longer and hold its re-sale value a lot better,their just better cars ,god luck.
