Greetings!

I am answering this because you asked me to be part of your web.

Personally, I don't think of God as a shock absorber. As a man who continues to have off and on severe back pain, I feel no spiritual absorption whatsoever. I don't think that many people who are chronically ill or who have been victims of crime or mentally depressed feel any spiritual buffer zone either.

As I see it, God (whoever that title truly belongs to) put us here on Earth to experience both joy and pain.

The pains we experience help define who we are, regardless
who or what brought us to that pain, our own selves included.

The joy, pride and ecstasy allows us to feel triumphant, especially in light of the intense pain we have suffered, whether it is physical, mental, spiritual or all of the above.

Thank you for reminding me to visit the answers page. It has been a while since I have visited. I need to do this more often.

Take care.

Interesting question in that the Universe moves in a spiral. Even at the basic level of human existence, we find the Double Helix. With that in mind...

If there is a God, and this God created the Universe and all that's in it, would not God, the source, be formed or shaped similarly to the Double Helix or a "coilspring" as you say?

This is an interesting picture you give to describe how the Lord takes the brunt of all that we have to go through.
I remember reading once of a christian who was walking along the road and something hit him really hard.. so he thought right away that the Lord was allowing bad things to happen to him in his life. That the Lord did not care for him as he should.. how could the Lord allow this piece of rock to hit him so hard.
It was then that he turned around and saw that the Lord was standing behind him... with His whole body like a shield taking some of the biggest pieces of rock against His back .. the little splinter that hit the believer was one that got away.. but it was such a small speck compared to the boulders at the Lord's back..
THe believer dropped to his knees and asked the Lord to forgive him for being such a complainer. That indeed the Lord loves Him and day by day bears so many things for us that we are not aware of.

So yes brother.. does our Lord bear the brunt.. like a coil spring bears the brunt? YES.. He does... and He will carry us day by day as our Good shephered.
I just thank the Lord for so many small reminders in our day to day lives that remind us as little pictures of what and Who He means and is to us.

Interesting question, but I would have to say no. Without the everyday "bumps" we wouldn't learn and our spirits wouldn't grow. A baby doesn't learn something is hot until he actually touches it....as Parents [and God is our Father} we/he must allow us to absorb our own shocks. He is there in our thought and prayers so that we can manage and handle them.

No... God is an indifferent osberver of the "natural world", He dosent care one way or the other as to what happens in anyones lives.. And why would he? What purpose does it serve for a being who is "all powerful" to concern himself with the "trivial" ins and outs of human lives? Gods has only one intrest in us as humans, and that is to see if we can evolve past our own petty lives and discover a "higher" state of being.
