Your question is "Can you tell what medical conditions might be discovered by the color of urine?"

Well you can and you can't. Urine color can suggest certain conditions but can't diagnose them. Further investigation is required.

If urine is consistently colorless, it can suggest overhydration, SIADH (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone) or the polyuria that accompanies undiagnosed diabetes.

If urine is smoky or reddish, it can suggest hematuria (blood in urine) or certain medication use.

If urine is blue or green, it can suggest food coloring, certain foods or medications.

If urine is amber or brown, it can suggest dehydration, fluid retention or renal insufficiency.

If urine is cloudy, it can suggest infection (pyuria = pus in urine) or in men it can be semen.

straw colored yellow is what color your urine should be always!!! dk.yellows to oranges to browns [which is blood that looks like coffee grounds] are definately signs that one or more organs such as the liver, kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder or bile ducts may be afflicted with abnormal functioning or possible desease... usually though anycolor slightly off is dehydration [drink more water]
any urine even with a vitamin deficiency is not ever going to be completely clear not even if you are afflicted with being overhydrated or you are urinating excessively (polyuria)
the designation "clear" from an urinalysis test simply means you are just fine... like -negative- which is a very good finding~~~

as far as neon colored urine, or blue or green as mentioned earlier I wonder if these avatars have a case of hallucinosis... including Tweety Bird who says she is a nurse~~~

Your mom's right. If your urine is dark yellow, you're dehydrated and need to drink more water so that you're not making your kidneys work so hard (which is not good for them and could lead to things like kidney stones (very painful).
