Ebonics Talk?

Why do white Americans - some not all - criticize African-American for speaking AAVV, speaking Ebonics, speaking ghetto, speaking slang and belittle them?

I find it extremely offensive and unbearably selfish because speaking AAVV is the way I detach my self from white American and embrace my heritage. For instance, if any Asian-American, a Asian born in American, wanted to do the same, all he or she would have to do is start speaking Asian, but American-Americans do not have that same privilege because White America robbed us of are heritage, so why would you complain when we subconsciously and consciously crated a new one, a new culture that differs from yours?

So my question again is, why do white Americans - some not all -criticize African-American for speaking AAVV, speaking Ebonics, speaking ghetto, speaking slang and belittle them?

Well, you are a citizen of an English speaking country and, as such, you are expected to learn to speak and write the language.

Eubonics is an excuse. An excuse to not do well in school, not get a good job and to become part of the subculture who sucks off the rest of us.

Without language skills, you will never have a good standing in your community nor will you ever be employable beyond the burger flipper, frying chicken, minimum wage bunch of losers.

Your culture might have it's roots in Africa but neither you nor any of your ancestors for the last several hundred years has set foot on that continent. You are Americans. Either shape up and speak the English language or emigrate to some country that will appreciate your ignorance. If you speak like a slave, you will be treated like one.

"detach my self from white American and embrace my heritage" Say what? I don't get the point of doing this. WHAT heritage is it exactly that this stuff called ebonics embraces? As I understand it, your heritage is savage, barbaric, tribal, and even some of your own tribal leaders sold your ancestors into slavery. By doing this detachment as you say, you segregate yourself from the mainstream of society. And then you have the gall to complain about how you are oppressed and how you are being held back... You are just SO sad... I can forgive simple ignorance and even lack of education, but I have no sympathy for your intentional stupidity. Your spelling and grammar leave something to be desired. I am an equal opportunity individual. I ALWAYS comment on poor grammar and poor spelling. Better to be thought an idiot than to open your mouth and remove any doubt. First Im white so here ya go.
I cant speak for all whites but I'll give you my opinion.
You detach yourself? Isnt that what you dont want to be done to you? You dont want to be seperated, so, why seperate yourself? White people robbed you of your heritage? Come on. Youre being ridiculous. We are all here for various reasons.
Speaking intelligently means just that. Intelligence doesnt have a color. In fact all colors use it. Try it. Its time to stop complaining and instead contribute something positive to life and those around you.
This white guy doesnt care how you speak, what matters is how you present yourself. Focus there first.
