Even if it's something I like to do, I just can't make myself get on it. I don't like to shower--don't want to get wet. I've got tons of TG flower arrangments to make for friends & family, and I love to do that, but I can't get started. I'm sleepy. I think I'll take a nap and get started later. Maybe. Maybe I just need more light.

Voice, you have the eye of an eagle. Yes, I have chronic depression. I have NO self-control unless it's an urgent need or someone prods me. Getting past that little barrier--I can't do it without help.

It sounds like you're focusing on getting it all done at once. You can't. Focus on one at a time. Just do one at a time. An old Chinese proverb: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".

I think it is hard to start doing projects.
They feel like such a big deal. Just the word PROJECT
is overwhelming when you are feeling depressed.
Do things that do not take too much time. Set smaller goals that are easier to accomplish.
It often happens to me, once I get started on something it is easier to proceed. I know it is hard.
Best Wishes

this sounds like a classic case of mild depression. If it persists, you need to see your doctor and let them know what's going on. You may be like millions of others (myself included) that suffer fro Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). In any case it's never a bad idea to get a check up to be sure it's not medical either. Your doctor can suggest ways to help you get back on track...but don't ignore this...it can last years without treatment and rob you of a full happy life....good luck

i also have depression, i saw the doc about it 2 weeks ago, it comes and goes......so annoying! i dont take medication, because i dont belive in it. i try to direct my thoughts a certain way when it starts so i can get stuff done. i usually turn everything in the house off like the tv, radio, etc. so i get bored by the silence and i can focus on the things around me, and finally get annoyed to start doing stuff, its so bad but its kinda like i use reverse pyschology on myself. weird i know. maybe you should try something like that to "trick" yourself into doing stuff. then when you are doing them, you are up doing something!
