Not as much as I wish here on R&S.
I think that we should include these verses as well:
Hebrews 12:1-15 (New International Version)
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."[a]
7Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13"Make level paths for your feet,"[b] so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.
Warning Against Refusing God
14Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Yes it is pertaining to us today.
There have been great wars in the past, even lead by Christians, including popes. That did not make them right. But the Bible says a lot of wars shall be going on when Jesus returns. Far more people are thinking of themselves than the Bible today. Pray for all.

Some of the lessons in the bible are very relevant to today's society (not killing, stealing or adulteration) but in the main these are not christian principles at all. For example they also appear in Islamic, Hindi and Krishna scriptures and the origins are more probably secular than religious.
Where there is a bigger problem (especially in the old testament) is that many biblical principles are particularly barbaric by today's standards. For example the stoning to death of children for being disobedient to ones parents, or adults for collecting sticks on the sabbath. Indeed the stoning to death of anyone is morally abhorrent and totally inappropriate.
Basically you either adhere to the principle that the bible provides your moral framework, or you don't. You can't cherry pick the good bits and ignore the bad bits.
For examples of moral unacceptability, please look up Judges 19:29 (carve up your dead wife (whose death you aided) into 12 parts and post them to parts of Israel), Numbers 31:18 (murder all people in the Mindianite cities except virgin women) Joshua 6:21 (utterly destroy all who live (man, woman, young, old, ox & sheep) in the city of Jericho because they disagree with your choice of deity).
Sorry guys, this is not a moral position reasonable people armed with all the facts should support.

Yes this is for yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The Lord God does not want us warring with one another. To follow Holiness is to do the best we can by our fellow man and to abide by the Lord Gods word.

All of the New Testament is what we are supposed to be living by. It was written for our time. In Hebrews 12:14, I believe truer worrds were never spoken . I love that verse.

Yes it does pertain to us today. Sin always blocks our vision of God, so if we want to see God, we must renounce sin and obey him. Holiness is coupled with living in peace. A right relationship with God leads to right relationships with fellow believers. Although we will not always feel loving toward all other believers, we must pursue peace as we become more Christlike.

Why wouldn't it? I believe the entire Bible is good for everything we do, we just need to learn how to tie it in to modern thinking; apply it to our daily lives.

The Bible , Torah , and Koran were written hundreds of years ago for people and conditions of that time . That was then , this is now .
Superstitious people believe they were written for all time , even though they don't make sense now . I don't .
