I find that most situations really would benefit from open communications. So, before doing any spiritual work I recommend doing a reading to determine what the spirit considers to be the best possible course of action. If spirit says it's okay to go forward with the work, then by all means, do so; however, if spirit says not to go forward one should sit and trust that God's plan is the best one.

Be well,

What are you trying to do? Binding? Love spells? Charms?

I'm always a little wary of doing anything by magic - or indeed by any other power I might possess, from speech to action - that 'enforces' a behaviour on another, so I'm a little concerned by the idea of using magic to 'keep' your lover. Simply the idea that magic is being used to force something gives me trouble, and the law of threefold return says that whatever you put out there comes back to you three times, so a possible con is that if the 'keeping' is in any way against their will, you might be building trouble for yourself down the line. Of course, one can use white magic to protect a relationship from temptation and harm without any particularly ill effects, though I'd caution you to be pretty precise in stating your intentions in whatever voodoo or spelwork you undertake.

Bottom line, there are probably more effective ways of 'keeping' a lover than any level of voodoo or witchcraft - conversation, connection, intimacy, laughter - these will keep someone with you far longer and tighter than anything the Craft can do for you.

Blessings.

Firstly if it not going to work out then it is better to accept it. You may well have someone else who you are supposed to meet and being with your current lover may get in the way of that. Or he might. For this reason a fair number of people do not believe that doing 'Love Magic' is ethical. There are some who believe that it is breaking the Wiccan rede of 'as long as it harms none do what thou wilt.' That binding or causing someone to act against their free will is akin to harm.

My question to you is: wouldn't you rather he loved you because of who you are rather than because you put a spell on him?
