More that likely, he has a stomach virus, the body has a natural defense mechanism that induses vomiting for "stomach viruses".
Another possible cause would be that he ingested something bad, either food poison or chemical poison. in that case, the best solution would be to seek medical attention.
If he has a fever, definetly go to the ER, eventhough they may just tell you it is a virus and they cant do anything.

Either way, the child without a doubt will be suffering from severe dehydration. The best thing that you can do at home for an infant is to hydrate him with pedialyte. Even with a stomach virus, this solution contains important electrolytes, that will be absorbed before he has a chance to regergitate. Also, the pedialite usually is the only thing that stays down and usually puts the infant on a good road to recovery.

Once you can get him to eat, Oatmeal or Rice, are very easy to digest and will give him some starch energy, no or very little sugar salt or butter.

Take him to the doctor. He's small at two years old and dehydration is major risk with all of the vomiting. Next time if you're worried enough to post on Yahoo Answers, just call the doctor instead!

Sounds like a stomach virus, but in a two year old, you just can't be sure. Its time for a trip to the doctor. Also, he may be dehydrated. You can check this by taking his little hand at the outer side if the wrist and gently pinching the skin there. If it stays peaked the way you pinched it, even for a second, he is significantly dehydrated; he will need fluids. But never ever hesitate to take your child to the hospital if you are not sure what's going on. Blessings to you and your little guy.....

Check for fever, soreness around the ears, try giving him different flavored PEDIALITE,one flavor or the other will be able to be drank and these have lots of vitamins in them that will help defend and build immunity. Also try a few saltine crackers. If there is soreness around the ears try putting some mineral oil(a drop or two) in each ear. Some times an inner ear infection causes the whole affect of vomiting, fever, diarrhea and the likes. The reason this is is because a child's inner ear tubes are still connected to their throat in an open form-later on they will grow to separate and therefore the inner ear infections are a lot less likely to occur.

Lay him down and give him a little motrin, you should go to the doctor. You can call the doctor too if you would like. When you call/tell the doctor his temp. , his condition, if he feels sick right then and there, etc. If the doctor tells you to make a prescription for something, pick it up frm your doc/pediatrition. Make you're son drink tiny tiny sips of water so it will go down easier. Hope he feels better!

P.S now that I have read other answers, i noticed he could be suffering from dehydration. Go straight to the doctors. Don't wastetime on the comp.

Anytime a child is vomiting that long, you should take them to be seen. I would skip the doctor and take him to the ER. If he's dehydrated, they can start and IV and hydrate him. It's hard to tell what it might be, it could be any number of things.

Lightly pinch some of his skin between your fingers - if it stays up, he is dehydrated, otherwise he is not. My son couldn't hold anything down for four days- it was a stomach bug. I gave him small amounts of water and warmed up gingerale (that takes the fizz out). Soda crackers are also good. Don't worry too much!

Take him to the doctor. After two days there is a risk of dehydration.

If he literally can't keep anything down, take him to the doctor. Even if his illness isn't something serious, dehydration is going to be a real concern.

Think it may be time to get him to the doctor alright!! If this happens again, give him flat coca cola with half a level tea spoon of salt to ease dehytration and to give energy.
