Well, I guess I have a sore throat or something because I have a gagging feeling in my throat.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Two people in my family had sore throats, but I'm not sure what they felt like.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide. :)

Could be from a number of different things, most common being drainage from the sinuses. Also GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease). Acids from the stomach wash back into the throat and can cause a feeling of something stuck there.

Your throat can also close up some when you are sick with a sore throat. Do you have a fever of any kind? You can gargle your throat with some very warm salt warm. It is very healing. Do it a couple of times every 30 mins or so for a while and see if it feels better. Take something for a temperature if you have a fever.

If you're gagging, that means you have phlegm buildup. You should drink lots of fluids and go to the doctor. Believe me, you will know a sore throat when you feel it. A fever usually accompanies it.
