My mom wants to find a place to donate her wedding dress to a good cause. The problem is, it's from her wedding 25 years ago, and I can't find a charity that that'll accept wedding dresses this old! Well, I take that back, I found one that makes burial shrouds and gowns for "heavenly angels." My mom kinda freaked out about that one! We live in Florida, if that helps at all. Any advice?

Brides Against Breastcancer.....I can't imagine they would actually turn down a dress!

Perhaps post an ad on craigslit with a pic and let deserving brides submit stories and she can pick one.

Otherwise....yeah. Goodwill.

try the goodwill, personally i like the idea for the burial shrouds and gowns, its puts the dress to a good use!
to be honest i don't know who would wear a wedding dress that was 25 years old unless it was an heirloom and handed down to a daughter to wear. No offense:)

There are lots of charaties out there that you can donate to that are created to help brides that have a small budget and can't afford a wedding dress. I would suggest doing a search in your area to find out.

Or you can do a "trash the dress" photoshoot. This way you can have photos of doing things like wading in an ocean/lake, or playing on the playground, and you don't have to worry if the dress gets ruined.

Yes. Find a good seamstress, and use the material to make something else.

Perhaps a christening gown for a grandchild?

Perhaps a pretty pillow for Mom's bed?

Perhaps have some of the scraps made into a quilt?

Or try to donate here:

Wow! A 25 year old wedding dress is considered "vintage"?! Just give it to Good Will or something . The dress really isn't that old just outdated. Perhaps a local theater group might want it for their costume wardrobe.
