To believe in God and to pray to Him is faith. If we have faith in His existence and that He listens, then we should also have faith in that He will not answer all your prayers. What if I am asking for something that I do not deserve or that is meant for someone more deserving.
There are three ways prayers are useful:
1. They are answered and you get what you asked for.
2. They protect you when you need help.
3. They will take form of a holy act and assist you on the day of judgment.
Again, for all this, you need to have faith in the Almighty God!
Pray! and do it often. Do not be disappointed because you didn't get what you wanted. Be happy because you may get aid, when there is no one to help you out.

God is ever listening and He will only bestow upon you what is in your best interests.
Ma' Salam! (Peace be upon you)

i like Daniel, yet i don't be attentive to why you chosen Daniel 10 for prayers. It become our Sunday college lesson final week (extraordinary?). It does state Daniel become "surprisingly esteemed" or "of super high quality" or "a great deal cherished." If we are interior of God's plan for us we are in that classification, and God listens to our pleas. I fairly have seen the two, prompt and at the back of schedule solutions. till I gave the e book away, I were praying the prayers in "the flexibility of a Praying spouse" by making use of Stormie Omartian and located some prayers spoke back immediatley (alongside with creativity interior the marriage) yet others have taken an prolonged time. My marriage nevertheless desires plenty therapeutic. i'm happy with the "short term" solutions and look ahead to the long term ideas.

Do you really think that of all the people on earth who believe in your god, that he cares so much about your specific need at a particular moment? Maybe everyone could leave god alone and he'd have the time to do something about cancer, child abuse, floods, fires, earthquakes, AIDS...oh, wait, according to believers, god also created all of those!

Yup. Sometimes it's "yes". Sometimes it's "no". Sometimes it's "not right now". He hears and answers, however.

As He knows what is best (Isaiah 55:9) and always wants what is best for us (Jeremiah 29:11-13) we should pray that His will be done in our lives and endeavor to align ourselves accordingly.

God bless.

As a Pagan, prayer is akin to spell work. Spell work will follow the path of least resistance. Be careful what you ask for, but more importantly, how you ask for it.

Yes if we ask according to God's will he listens and immediately answers our prayer... check this one...

Hosea 9:14-16 niv
(this prophet is improvising a prayer to God!...) Give them, O LORD— what will you give them? Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry. (And God rushes to answer him on the spot!!!) "Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there. Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious. Ephraim is blighted, their root is withered, they yield no fruit. Even if they bear children, I will slay their cherished offspring."

He always answers our prayer if we ask him “according to his will” even before we seal it with the magic signature of Amen* (*so be it!)
