All we are appearing to do here is to argue about what is right & what is wrong & we never come to a REAL resolution no matter how much we do

What is the benefit of all these usually unproductive debates about our own beliefs, which we rarely seem to change & the only thing that does actually seem to change is an increase in levels of hatred forother group/belief systems etc

Our goals are the same as we claim....do good unto others & help others to do good into even more people -indirectly all of us have within our heart an inner desire to keep others from suffering, but we are caught up so much in these argumental conflicts that we rarely stop to think that if we all united,we could work together,to make this world an actual better place

Whatever your belief is,admit it,you don't want people to suffer & we all have our own way of trying to do so,but do you really think the curses we put against eachother help our common cause?

STOP the hatred, unite for love
Thank you for reading:)

I will change my screen name out of respect......and I want to assure everyone that The prince of persia name was not meant to offend anyone......I wish to apologize for my ignorance.....

Jonjon has a good point....but I have a strong belief otherwise...The fact you mentioned about religion destroying the minds of people may be right if referred to blind fundamentalism...A religion followed properly and by meaning and reason is actually like nedicine to an unhealthy mind.....taking more than prescribed is poisonous - and taking less than prescribed keeps someone unhealthy.....

Maintaining religion with discipline, reason and true spirituality changes a person for the better and not worse...

@jonjon, Yes I understand what you are referring to when you mention history of religion...but religion is what kept a lot of people from turning to the darkening of human society during the past ...while fundamentalism had its bad influences as you mentioned, good did come out of Religious affiliation.......Think about Mother Teresa, Mohandas Gandhi, and other figures throughout history......

And then there are other themes such as charitywork, morality, virtue and other things which keep people from losing their way into the darkness of barbarism and anarchy...

Anyhow, People should not have problems with atheism that has morality, what i worry about is from other people to take it in a different way than you do - which is more rampant in society......When people lose hope they seem to turn to atheism - and usually things turn worse for the majority.....

People need religion...to keep them together...

I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't agree that our goals are all the same, and that they all involve doing good unto others. Even supposing they were, define "good." This is especially tricky when it comes to religion - the Inquisition used to think it was saving souls by burning heretics at the stake; it was that "burn them here so they won't burn there" mentality. But many "religious" people don't even pretend that altruism is a function of religion.

I'm an atheist, and I rail against religion precisely because it IS irrational and amoral, and it vampirizes the spiritual impulse in man and exploits it, typically for financial gain. I have a reason and a right to complain, and a will to do something about it. Not because I don't want people to be spiritual - on the contrary!

I mean, check it out - all "chier" could get out of your question is that you named yourself after a demon mentioned in some biblical text (actually I'm sure it was the video game, but whatever). Others just regurgitate the standard dogmatic tripe about how "Satan is King of this world," etc etc - anything to dodge the question! Religion has truly destroyed the hearts and brains of some of its victims.

At least if we begin with "first principles" that are actually rational and self-evident, as opposed to irrational and dogmatic, we're less likely to find ourselves committing heinous atrocities in the name of "good" - which is basically the history of religion. Suddenly the village collectively realizes that it's hanged dozens of innocent people in the interest of stamping out "evil."

P.S. - DON'T change your screen name. It's harmless, and it's just plain stupid for people to pretend to be offended by it.

For a small fee of $20 dollars (US)...I will stop hating.

Just kidding man.

You've a valid point. But I'm pretty sure most of the folk on here do not really hate each other. This is just a great place to waste a little spare time poking at people and letting off a little steam.

Personally I find there to be good aspects in ALL the beliefs people on here share. The one's that get all fired up over their beliefs are insecure and make themselves targets.

If someone gives me a target...I'm taking a shot.

I think, to united you just cant be too open up for any issues regarding religions or culture. We as a person and as a humans try to think wisely how is our feelings if the same thing happen to us.
As a human, we have the right to be hatred in our feelings, but the only way is to control it, by thinking more on positive sight.

I've seen hatred, and the debate here rarely, if ever, rises to the level of hatred.

Abandoning religious argumentation in favor of ethical action is, fundamentally, the atheist position. Preach to the 'saved by grace alone' crowd, because that position abandons ethics for an arbitrary judgement scale.

A Christian should not have hatred in their heart. They can't hate you and love God. God specifically tells us that. However, to deny Jesus Christ is to deny our faith and this we can never do.

I can't accept your Islamic religion, but I can certainly accept and love you and be productive about helping others who are in need.

Why did you choose the name "Prince of Persia?" Have you ever read the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible? Read it, because the Prince of Persia is in it.

Thank you for reading about the Prince of Persia.

It took two mothers in Ireland, standing up against oppression of the English Military dictatorship and the arms mad IRA; to stand and ask their counterparts in all parts of Ireland to unite with them to stop the madness.

Today Ireland is one country free of the damned oppression of the English that started when Henry the 8th wanted to screw as many young women as he could with no interference from the Church. basically.

When all the Mothers in the Muslim community and the Jewish Community, stand up against the murder and desecation of religion, the madness of men who are bloodthirsty murdering thugs who have no idea of decency or tolerance; when they decide their children are precious gifts from God, and are of no use DEAD

then and only then will the madness in the world stop.

This is not a goal-oriented discussion panel where resolutions to questions formed in the middle ages is now to be solved.

This is a question and answer forum, where people ask questions of the "general public" to find their own answers. We have no "goals" here, just our own answers.

Besides, the answer to your question, "what can make all this hatred stop" is love. Love makes hatred stop. Practice it, live by it, relish in it.

Well, Christ did say He didn't come to bring peace, but division. To set a son against his father, and a daughter against her mother. The radical thing about His word is it forces one to be on one side of the fence or the other. There is no middle ground. Period. The eternality of the choice is that serious a matter.

Why do you call yourself the prince of Persia? This is a well known demon which is recorded in Daniel 10:12-14.
