My mates mum is on life support but she wasn't involved in an accident or anything. She went to hospital quite regularly for about 2 months before but wouldn't tell my mate why. Then she just collapsed and is now on life support.
My mate still doesn't know whats wrong with her and I think its unfair that he's left in the dark about it.
Does anyone have an ideas what might be wrong with her? And does it sound like she will recover or not?

There are many reasons for the collapse and for her to go regularly.
Your mate needs to know. Please get him to speak to the relevant authorities and doctors to understand the situation.

My thoughts are with him and his mom.

How sad for him to be going through this in the dark. I haven't a clue, but it sounds like someting she didn't want to reveal to anyone, perhaps she was ashamed or just scared. I would listen very closely to the docs and nurses and see what I could figure out. There ought to be some clues. It can be hard to live with the "mysteries", but accepting her choice to keep it to herself and just be loving and supportive might be the most peaceful path. My hopes and prayers are with you all.

Does she have a medical power of attorney ask the nurses or doctors to explain to you what is going on. If she is on life support who is making all of her decisions? There are a lot of things that could have happened, its hard to tell from the details.

Might be a case of Tumor or Cancer considering she's on life support, might also be a heart disease... Tell your 'mate' to ask the hospital authorities about her...

There is no way anyone here could possibly know what is wrong with her. Your mate must talk to the doctor.

I don't really know much, because that was very general, but I've had family members become ill all of the sudden, so I think she will be ok. That kind of thing can be brought on by something like her not having enough of a certain vitamin in her system.

No one here knows. Why doesn't your mate talk to the doctors? He's family... they will tell him what's up.

He should contact the hospital and let them know that he is her son. He has every right to know what's wrong. :-)
