I could be wrong, but I think it is spelled "CELEBREX", not "CELEBRAX". Anyway. my doctor prescribed it for me several years ago when Celebrex AND Vioxx first came out. I have degenerative disc disease, arthritis in my neck and back as well as the pain I had in my elbow which is known as "tennis elbow". In my opinion, it didn't help me much at all. Although I didn't use it that long ( I believe the full effects cannot be known unless IT IS used for a period of time) but because of the possible side effects it may cause, such as rapid heart beat, stroke and worse...heart attacks!!! (even in younger people!) I chose to stop using it. From what I've heard, it is supposed to be somewhat similar to Vioxx. The company that makes Vioxx is now (and has been) involved in many, many law suites for injuring and causing the deaths
of alot of it's users. As I said, I was told it is similar to Vioxx, so besides not working for me, I did not want to take the chance and end up with other and extremely more serious medical problems just from taking the medication!. So, as far as I'm concerned, it did not help me at all with my pain associated with my arthritis. Please be very careful and talk to your doctor about the possibility of extremely bad and severe side effects it may cause.I know there's alot of different and known safer medications for your arthritis in your wrist.Remember..... It's always better to be safe than sorry!! I hope this helps you a little bit :)

Celecoxib is used for the relief of pain, fever, swelling, and tenderness caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Celecoxib does not prevent the progression of either type of arthritis. It reduces only the symptoms and signs of arthritis. Celecoxib has been approved for patients with familial FAP who have not had their colons removed. Celebrex also is approved for the relief of acute pain and the pain of menstrual cramps (primary dysmenorrhea).

There are certain side effects with this drug. It may cause chest pain or a heart attack. You should discuss the side effects with your doctor because he knows you and your family history before taking it.
