I doubt if anyone will be able to enlighten you with any knowledge. The argument I would refute is that homosexuals are born with the tendency in the genes (nature). There is no evidence for this. But there is evidence that the environment (nurture) can affect sexual preference, particularly a lack of affirmation in childhood.

Despite the fact that you don't want an answer...
And despite the fact that my answer will be VERY unpopular...
I will attempt to answer.
Throughout our life, we are learning. We learn through what we are told, but we also learn through what we experience. Everything we do, and everything that is done to us, adds to that learning process. This happens whether we are aware of it or not.
These things that we learn influence how we think. For example, if we learn that "everybody has sex," we may start to think that "it's ok for me to have premarital sex because everybody does it these days."
Following that line of thinking, if somebody learns that homosexuality is "normal" then they are more likely to think that they are homosexual. And rest assured, even the scientists who agree that homosexuality occurs within the animal kingdom do not define it as "normal." Yet that is exactly what we are being taught as a society from the day we emerge from our mothers' wombs.
Now, am I 100% certain of this? No, this is just a theory. But it is a theory that fits the known observations. As more is learned, I will no doubt refine or change my theory as needed.
Hope this helps.

It depends on the religion I suppose. My personal belief (which is reflected by my Church's teachings, I think) is that some are naturally gay, but that doesn't make them bad people. They can choose to be chaste their whole life and that would be fine. When they choose to be practicing gays, however, we believe that it is sinful.
A gay in and of himself/herself is not evil. Just because they are also weak doesn't mean they are any different from us in sin. It just means they are misguided and living in sin if they choose to be active gays.
The most we can do is pray for them and hope they see the error of their ways.

The sex act between a man and man or a man and a woman is a choice. The desire for one or the other is not always a choice. We are not animals who cannot control our sexual desires. We are people created in the image of Almighty God. God gives us self-control, a fruit of the Spirit. The sex act is the choice, not always the feelings.

The same way a person chooses to have sex with children, or dogs. The same way a man goes out and has sex with every girl that will drop her pants. The same way a person can be a serial killer, or a drug addict. They just do it.
People are born with tendencies to do certain things, it is up to us to choose to act on them.

The first time you choose to have a guy's tally-wacker enter another males waste receptacle, you have chosen to be gay.
In other words, you choose whom you have sex with.

Well, the way I did it was like this: When I was 6 years old, I got up one bright, sunny Spring day. I remember having French Toast for breakfast. I was not in school that day and I was bored. I could not decide WHAT to do as I was tired of coloring and watching TV. Then it hit me! I know...I'll decide whether to be gay or straight! So, I found a daisy and began pulling off petals--I want to be straight, I want to be gay, I want to be straight, I want to be gay. And the last petal remaining was I want to be gay!
