Logic would dictate that this would depend on what part of the world you were living in, what ethnic group you belonged to, etc. But back before there was Jesus or a bible or Christianity in general, what religion do you think you might have been? Would it have mattered? Would you have gone to hell because you didn't accept Jesus and God as your lord and savior (since Jesus hadn't showed up yet)?

(Answer quickly, in case this gets deleted...)

cadisney: I actually don't know why it would get deleted, but I've had much more benign questions than this deleted before, and they were in this vein.

Jesus M: What? Yes of course you'd be dead today if you lived 5000 years ago; how is your point relevant to the question?

Depends on which side of the family. Either some old Celtic or Scandinavian belief.

Why would this question get deleted?

I dont have a clue what religion I would be if I had been born 50 years ago.

This is kind of like those questions that ask if you had been born to a southern family during slavery would you have owned a slave. Who knows. I would hope that I would have known it was wrong, but when you are raised in a particular belief system you tend to rationalize and believe things you might not have believed growing up somewhere else.

And who said that you will go to hell just because you didn't accept Jesus as GOD and Savior, Jesus save everyone you know.....well, if i were born 5000 years ago then my religion would definitely be the religion of my parents whatever it may be, i can't tell....I don't know any religion 5000 years ago, and i don't know where in the world am I 5000 years ago...

If I fall under any man's religion I will become slave to that religion, not free of myself, but ultimately it is my responsibility. I choose to follow my heart, which is the same now, as it is always, the Conviction of which is:

That Love cannot die (The Immortality of God)
That Love seeks to be in union with one another and of the same mind (The Oneness of God)
That I desire the unattainable perfection of my nature according to the Nature of Truth (The Nature of God - Pure and Holy and Righteous, not just temporally like in this world, but for always)

Clearly, those things are unattainable in this world, all things point with all factual and solid power against the Truth in my heart, but I cannot and will not believe it is TRUTH. To do that is to deny my own existence. So it is by FAITH that I live, and that faith, is LOVE and that Love is God.

That's the underlying Philosophy of Jesus and of Christianity and of myself.

I would serve the Christian God...the same God people were serving LONG before Jesus' was on the earth. (since the beginning of time to be exact)

you will no longer be able to be a Christian without belonging to the Christian cult. The Christian cult’s doctrine is the Holy Bible. you will possibly no longer bypass to a church or be a member of a particular denomination/sect, yet once you base your ideals and worship on the Holy Bible, you're an adherent of the Christian cult.

It all depends, my friend... depends on what part of the world yer in... granted, all religions back then were Pagan (non-Christian... usually nature worshiping)... beyond that, I doubt you'll get a better answer...

No I would have believed in the same God I believe in now. Those who lived before the incarnation of Jesus, looked forward in faith to his promised coming. They were saved by that faith in the same Lord and savior that has saved me.
