If I remember correctly, God was very upset at how bad humans had turned out, so he decided to wipe them off the face of the earth, except for Noah and his family. I also heard that the Coming of the Lord would be when the world was akin to Sodom and Gomorrah, so I guess that our current events pretty much spell the time is ripe.

The only thing Objective about the Truth of God is it's very subjectivity. God said: " I AM", and you know what? He IS.
God is everything. God IS your truth. God IS his truth.
God IS Truth. God IS.
The problem isn't with the creator but with the created.
The created, born in to the finite universe, finds itself unable to grasp the totality of IS.
even nothing is something in that it negates and defines something. God is beyond our duality.
God can NOT exist for the Atheist AND be a poor, carpenters' son to the Christian.
God is a very personal relationship between creator and created that exists only within the human minds' ability to comprehend. The infinte can only relate to the finite if it fragments..... like light through a prism.
To much disagreement comes from mistaking our "beliefs" for the final word and the only Truth.
In the end, so much life is wasted in a futile attempt at enforcing the little ray of light we may have been blessed with that we miss the blazing sun of the real message.
We get stuck in facts, in history and words.
God doesn't live in your books.
the "word" has taken the purpose of life and wasted it with repetition and discipline.
God is alive, God IS life, God IS
Now get over it, allow people to live their own way and stop legislating your beliefs into others' way of life.
You'll find both the atheist and the preacher now have a more peaceful outlook and maybe we can get on with the business of living and make this world a heaven on earth.

I truly believe with the way the world is in today, that the Lord is coming soon. Nation shall rise against nation. Look at where the wars are today, look at all the crime, people turning their backs on the Lord. The horrible killings that go on daily in all cities across the United States, all over the world. The whole world is so filled w/sin & with people turning away from God & his teachings. Years ago my Dad preached on things that are actually coming to pass today. Looking back on it today I never felt like it was as true as it is now. He's going to come in a twinkling of an eye...JUST BE READY...He also promised it would NOT be by floods...I believe it's going to be by fire...All the more to look at the wars, bombs & things of that nature...

In the days of Noah, there was a great irreverence for God. There was lawlessness (meaning breaking of God's laws) and people went about their own lives, engaging in all kinds of sin and worshipping images that they made with their own hands. In the ENTIRE world there was only Noah and his family that gave God any respect and consideration.
Therefore, Jesus compares that time of Noah to the Last Days before His Return. People will be doing their own thing, doing what is 'right in their own eyes' and engaging in all kinds of horrendous sinning. There will be nothing held in reverence, they will curse God for their own troubles, etc. This is what the world will be doing when Christ returns.
It will be a terrible time indeed.

I have heard a couple of teachings. The first one is about how sinful the world was becoming back then. There was no one righteous but Noah. That is a scary thought. The other is about the flooding and the weather (rain) here on earth now. The preacher was comparing all the floods and huricannes coming upon us as in the days of Noah. I thought it is an interesting thought.

No continence or concern for a life of sin. Look around we are in the days as Noah had. God is the minority and Christians who refuse to take a stand for what is right and stay silent when the world forces us to conform should maybe take another look inside. I thank you Noah for making God smile. If you hadn't none of us would be here today.

God promised to in no way flood the earth back, yet interior the days of Noah, sin become so rampant, that God ended up flooding the earth. Sin is likewise rampant at present because it become interior the days of Noah.

It scares me and makes my heart heavy, because the Bible states that in those days that men hearts were on evil continually, and they were doing everything they could imagine. This is today, this is happening now. Some of the things that we read about, news report,we see and government allows seem to be inhumane. We have become a people of if you can imagine it and make it happen then do so.It scares me because i live everyday as Paul wrote, not that i have obtain but to obtain,i run the race to receive a crown, not believing it's already mine, that i may not get comfortable and lose footing. I press for the high mark and high calling in Christ,But i have many love ones who don't care, who believe that they have tomorrow, who don't believe in heaven or hell. But all because i don't believe Jordan won multiple championships with the bulls doesn't mean it's not true.their lack of belief can't erase the truth of the fact that the last days are nearing if they aren't already here.my heart aches for them, and not them only, but for all that Satan has bound and deceived,so regardless of what you may call me,or say negative about me,that i believes myths, ghost, spooks and spirits,i don't care i will continuiosly pray for God to have mercy and delay his coming until the truth is revealed to you,and that all of you accept Christ.Wether you want it or not,and i get all of your names from your negative feedback concerning Christianity. And no i don't need your real names God knows who i'm praying for when i say you alias. So i don't say Lord punish them, but i say forgive them they no not what they do have mercy,i love all of you wether you want me too or not,God Bless you. Back in those days people were just going about their lives just like we are. They never thought destruction was about to come on the earth, but it did.
And in the Last Days we will all be living as usual and in Matthew, scripture says He shall come as a thief in the night for true believers.
There's much more information before and after . It would be hard to just pick a few scriptures and try to understand just a few things.
As you can see, most answers are making fun of your question and what do they know of God or scripture. ???
You will be glad you are wanting Truth. Be cautious of whom you listen to. Many are just mockers.

If you are talking about Matthew 24:37-39, well I think Yeshua (Jesus) compares of Noah to the generation that will witness His return. When He returns, He comes to usher in a day of judgment. That day of judgment is likened unto the flood. "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah....." While Noah was busy building the ark, preaching righteousness, and warning his generation of their impending doom, the people carried on with the normal affairs of life. Yeshua tells us that just as in Noah's days, the generation of His return will ignore the warnings leading up to the big event. Life will be going on as normal when catastrophe strikes. In this context, the Master goes on to speak of those who will be taken away and those who will be left behind.
However, the one "taken away" in the Matthew 24 passage is not 'raptured up,' as is popularly taught. Just as the flood came and took people away in judgment, the taking away in Matthew 24:40-41 refers to people being taken in judgment.
If this meaning is unclear in Matthew 24, Yeshua makes it explicitly clear in a parallel passage in Luke 17. There, His disciples specifically ask about the ones taken away. "Where {will they be taken}, Lord?" they inquire. He answers, "Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered." (Luke 17:37) In other words, the corpses of those taken away will be food for the birds. Wherever those who are taken away are taken to, we don't want to go there. Better to be left behind than to be food for vultures.
In Yeshua's teaching, those taken away correspond to those who perished in the flood. The corpses of those who perished in the flood became food for the scavenging birds, such as the raven, which Noah released from the ark. So, too, when Messiah comes, the wicked will be slain and left as food for birds.
By the way, do read Revelation 19:17-18,21, which speak of the birds assembling "for the great supper of God," so that they can feast on the corpses of those Messiah defeats at the time of His appearing. "All the birds were filled with their flesh." (Revelation 19:21)
It is terrible how some see this as a joke like the posts here. Just like when Noah said that there was going to be a flood, the people didn't listen and thought he was crazy.

How were the people in Noah's days? The Bible says they were preoccupied with the mundane affairs of life, and not interested in listening to Noah's message of warning.
It sounds like today, because that's the way people are. They refuse to listen and carry on with their lives with no regard to the warning given.
Something to remember, the rain that fell in Noah's day was from God, not just severe weather. The weather today does not play into the pattern of Noah's day.
