Like...lets say that someone put a bodily fluid in my ice cream...

and they had hiv...

Could I get it?

One of the websites I was looking at said that HIV can survive in environments of 54 degrees and lower without being in the human body...

Is this true?

Should I worry?

Well, I ate this ice cream from Sonic and it took them FOREVER to get it out to me.....but it seemed normal. It was thick and yummy. However, whenever it started melting...it looked weird.

I think the other answerers need to do a little more true research in the spread of HIV....

When the HIV virus hit air/oxygen it is killed almost instantly. HIV is very unstable when outside the blood steam / body. You would have little to no chance of catching HIV in this way. If this were possible then engaging in oral sex and taking the "fluid" in your mouth you would be able to catch it this way to and there is little to no change of contracting HIV this way unless you have several open sores in your mouth because by the time the bodily fluid penetrates your skin the atmosphere has killed it, this is the same case a touching a bleeding person with HIV, if you dont have cuts or open sores on your hands then the chance of catching HIV is virtually impossible. HIV living in an environments or 54 or under could be right however it would still have to be in a "sealed" environment and come into no contact with air.

Don't believe me... call your local client and ask them. Better yet contact a Doctor in your area who specializes in HIV and have them tell you. These people have a certain paranoia of hear say and this is what leads to bigotry and prejudice against HIV infected people.

Hiv does not survive outside the body for very long. It dies at room temp but i don't know how well it does chilled. The way you said it i doubt you could get hiv from ingesting it like that. It needs to enter your bloodstream so you should be fine, but i would go get tested just in case and stop eating ice cream with aids in it.

The answer to your question is that you have nothing to worry about. Worrying about getting HIV in that way is irrational. You may have OCD or something like it because you shouldn't even be worrying about contracting HIV in the manner described. If it is causing you anxiety then please see a doctor. There are medicines that can help with the anxiety and help with the irrational fears.

Yes you should. This is true. Plus, there is an unknown person in your area dubbed the "AIDS-Cream Man". He goes to the grocery store and injects random cartons of ice cream with the AIDS virus (not HIV, but full-blown AIDS). BEWARE!!!! Do not eat any ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If something in case you have been to have a bleeding epidermis on your mouth and drank blood (like rinsed your mouth with it, not little samples) then its available. Or.... did you have intercourse with the icecream? ok the full state of affairs is outright stupid xD
