PROS- you have the perfect "excuse" to not eat meat, which tastes nasty, you are saving animals' lives and preventing their torture, you eat a lot more stuff that's better for you like veggies, and you're doing something good for the environment.

CONS- you do have to consider the vitamins/minerals thing. i've never known a vegetarian or vegan who has had any problems in that area, but vitamin B12 is a consideration. you have to make sure you get enough of that.

on a modern vegetarian diet, there is no reason why anyone should be short on any vitamins and/or minerals.

It all depens on your moral outview. A balance diet vegan, veggie or with a little meat is just as good as each other.

If you think saving animals is morally right then a pro is that your saving animal lives.

Cons: are not all first time vegitarians know about getting the right supplements, a friend of mine who works as a doctor in a hospitial has treated people over the years because they have not taken the right amoult of mineral/vits.

really the only benefits to a vegitarian diet that are not personal and moral is that it has to be carefully monitored to make sure you're getting protein. So most vegitarians are a bit more conscious of what they eat. This helps you stay in shape.

Cons, first is the stigma still attached to it. Also it can be very hard to eat out if you're hard line.

when an animal is killed for its meat, just before it is actually killed, it gets frightened (wouldn't you if you were about to be killed?) & it releases adrenaline & chemicals of fright, which puts its body in a state of terror. When you eat the meat, you also take in those released chemicals that the animal released into his body. So u r saving urself alot of bad stuff that are going into ur body, plus u don't know when you eat an animal whether it had any illnesses, or how it has been treated (if you eat the meat of an chicken that had been caged for example, nature takes revenge on your body becos he/she (the chicken!!) had been tortured.

I'd say in this day & age, it's probably better not to eat meat....
having said that even with vegetables & even organic stuff you don't know!! everything is messed with, even beans & pulses could have been GM etc,,,
I think just drink water! or become a yogi!!!

the pros: you eat more vegetables, which are good for you! and you can eat more nuts and drink more yummy stuff, the cons would be that you can't eat meat (no kidding) and that it makes it harder to get good nutrition, so you have to substitute meat with something else.
Good luck!
