Thank god someone is finally thinking of others! Pat yourself on the back. He has found a nice girl. Keep your lips to yourself if you have a outbreak. And he won't get it.

Ask him if he's ever EVER had a cold sore. Once you get a cold sore you have the virus in your body for the rest of your life. Be honest and say 'hey, have you ever had a cold sore?'
If he's like 'oh yeah, they're a pain in the butt' then you can kiss him because you're NOT going to transfer the virus because he already has it. And kissing him with a cold sore is not going to cause him to get one if this is the case because what makes cold sores appear is your body reactivating them in situations like stress, dehydration, exhaustion, hormones, etc. Make sure that you guys are talking about cold sores not canker sores because those are completely two different things. Canker sores are not caused by herpes simplex virus.

Just don't kiss him. I sure wouldn't want your nasty Herpes. Have a heart, remain celibate and keeps your STD's at home

Usually is is only contagious when you have an outbreak. If you know when they occur, don't do any kissing. Let him know about it and let him make the decision.
