At the end of the 2nd week I was forced to go to the doctor she was wanting to admit me in the hospital and I refused to go I do need to work. To week later I had to have more chest x-rays to confirm that I still have pneumonia. Now this is the 6th week and I am still sick.

This is the most strangest illness I have ever had in my life. I didnt get fluid in my lungs so I wast coughing up flem. So I didnt think anything about it.
my body temp is normal at 97.2 but for 2 weeks I was running temmps from 102 to 103. So I haad to go last Mon for more x-rays and I was told I still have pnuemonia and that I have to go back for more x-rays inn 2 more week.

I am not old only 48 and I am a type 2 diabetic

Does anyone anything about this pnumoina and why I have had it so long?

Yes I was tested for MRSA last week it was neg too.

You I take all my med faithfully, I get my insulin at night 60 units, a could of weeks ago i was alone in the house in the middle of the night and I am sure I had a seizure, I remember my hubby yelling at me about sleeping on the floor
In the morning I noticed I had some nasty bruises on my legs and arms, but I did tell anyone because i didn't want to get yelled at.

Since I have been sick my sugar has been on a roller coaster and I have no control of it, some days it may drop to 35 then jump up to 550. I am trying hard, in fact I lost over 25lbs in the pass 2 weeks so far that is the best thing that has happened so far.

My hubby is out of town teaching, he has tried all day trying to get a health aid to come give memy shots but the insurance compy wont pay, and my kids are too busy, so my huuy told me tocallhim if I needed hime in anemergency.

This was a once in a life time job an he couldnt pass it up, I know he will be living in another state. I can not go with him because I have run his office, and I run my own Aviary Rescue Center. So I do what i haveto do without help, I got tired of asking my adult kids to help me anymore, they dont have any time for me. Youngest daughter said she would stop over every night and give me my shot and she never has of yet. I give up

Please, listen to what I am saying very carefully. Pneumonia is a very serious disease, and kills many, many people every year. You need to listen to your physician and be admitted to the hospital, where you can, #1, get your sugar under control and #2, be treated for your pulmonary problem. Do not stay at home and attempt an "herbal remedy." The way that herbal medicine is practiced in this country is absolute quackery, and will have no effect on what is potentially a very, very serious disease.
If you were spiking very high fevers, your chest X-rays are all positive for pneumonia, and you are short of breath, then you should not be working. You should be at the hospital, resting, being monitored, and perhaps being given antibiotics if the cause of your illness is bacterial. Your blood sugar is fluctuating wildly because your body is under a lot of stress from your infection. You should take that as a very grave sign. I understand that it is very difficult to take time off of work, but it is better than the alternative, which means that you run the risk of causing serious, permanent damage to your lungs, which can lead to an inability to oxygenate, followed by systemic ischemia (lack of oxygen to your body), which can then be followed by coma, and eventually death.
Please, listen to your doctor, and do what she tells you.

I have had pneumonia numerous times and it took me at least 2-3 months to recuperate at 26 years old. What you need to remember is that your diabetes will hinder your healing even more, causing you to feel the effects of this disease for a longer period of time. Make sure that you're taking your medication properly and ask your doctor if you can supplement some Mucinex DM in with whatever it is that you're currently taking. It will help with the mucus and the coughing.
You're going to be recuperating for a longer period of time also because you waited so long to finally go to the doctor. This is gonna tack on additional healing time. The pneumonia that you're fighting is very strong because of this...please keep your appointments with your doctor for your chest xrays and continue taking your medications as prescribed. If the coughing or mucus production gets worse, go to the ER or call your doctor; you could be having a relapse and your respiratory status may be at risk.
Good luck, hon-please contact me if you have any other questions.

Well you still have pnemonia because you are a 48 year old Diabetic, who does not take care of herself. Are you taking your antibiotics? Managing your suger? taking your insulin when you are supossed to? Testing many times daily? It is also possible that you have MRSA, in which case you are screwed you may never get rid of it. My recommendation, when your doctor tells you they want to admit you to the hospital, listen to them. You will not have to worry about going to work if you are dead...

Okay with what you just reported, you MUST be admitted to the hospital as your doctor wants to do. With your suger fluctuating like it is. You could very well go into a diabetic coma and die. Seriously forget about work, this is life or death. I am really not kidding! Do it now!

Ok lets put it this way, My brother died from the same thing, either you take the time now for YOURSELF, or they will be paying for a funeral later. He died of Pnumonia that was left untreated. He died in a Chopper enroute to a major hospital to save his life. If that is in any way help to get you to seek treatment, then do so. He was only 40 yrs old and otherwise healthy, but thought he was needed at home to take care of other things and to valuable to leave home.

It could be that you need to boost your immune system in order for the medicine that the doctor has given you to fight the virus. I suggest a herbal immune system booster such as echinacea (in a tea form). Also, try some fresh garlic (also good for treating diabetes). There is a reason why people in olden times hung garlands (of garlic) on their front doors. It is a powerful ally in the fight against the nasties.

My husband had it for 2 months before he finally started to get better.
They gave him antibiotics that didn`t do anything every 2 weeks.
Finally they gave him different antibiotics and something to clear his lungs and that is what helped.
