My boyrfriend has a rash. It started as just a few tiny bumps, but then it turned to a scab. This is the second time this has happened. The first time, he went to the doctor and she said it didn't look like any STD she had seen, and the test came back negative. Now, it has come back again. He does seem to be irritated in the same area if he uses latex, and my nuva ring did the same. Three weeks ago, I switched my birth control. The bumps never got any bigger, and they didn't spread. He said that it does not hurt or itch. This seems to happen after he shaves. I've checked pictures online and it doesn't look like anything I can find. We have been together for 2 1/2 years, and I don't have any reason to believe he has been unfaithful. I just got my annual in July and everything was negative also. Can somebody please tell me what this could be?

I'm on the pill, and we generally don't use condoms. Haven't in a while. Maybe it rubs against where he shaves?

shaving is irritating the hair follicles on his skin or he';s allergic to latex. Switch to polyurethane or lambskin condoms and use a hypo allergenic shave cream

if it is happening right after he shaves then i have to ask if he is using anything in that area to help soothe the shaving process? if he is then he may be allergic to that or he may be allergic to the condoms so i would try lamb skin or if you are on birth control then just try spermicidle gel in stead of a condom. i hope this helps a little but he really should consult with his doctor again to let them know it came back again and they may have him go for an allergy test.

He needs to stop shaving down there. The area is too sensitive and unless he uses special lotions like moisturizers after shaving, he will continue to get a rash. Have you changed washing detergents? Use Aloe creams after shaving, that might help. We have hair there for a reason, it helps prevent bacteria.

Does he have an allergic reaction to detergents? Try using one of the kind that is free of all additives like perfumes. I am assuming this rash is in the groin area. I don't understand why he shaves there, but to each his own.
Have him see a dermatologist.

my guess is either a latex allergy, or potentially the shaving. maybe he's allergic to all kinds of plastic things down there, including the nuvaring. maybe it's razor burn and he needs to change razors, use moisturizing shave gel, and put on a moisturizer after he shaves.

You said it yourself --- latex. Lots of people are allergic to it. (as well as rubber, plastics and other materials) The simple way to find out is stay away from what you think you might be allergic to for awhile and see what happens.

If he shaves in his (important area) tell him to use lotion after he shaves they are probably bumps you get after shaving. It,s called razor burn.

He needs to see a dermatologist. My guess is a latex allergy, herpes or psoriasis.
