Cities in New Zealand usually have Street names which were derived directly from street names in Britain. The city of Dunedin was even modelled directly on a city map of Edinburgh. As you drive through Dunedin, you see one Scottish street name after the other: Moray Place, Forth Street, George Street...
Other than that, the similarities get a bit thin.
Our cities look more like Canadian cities than British cities, actually. Most are built on a grid, and there is a city centre and suburbs. That is different from cities in Britain, which often have residential districts right in the city centre.
Our cities are pretty quiet when everybody has gone home and left their offices, just like in America.
British influences on the Maori influences:
That's easily explained. Without British influences, there would be no cities here.
Feel free to use as many of my pictures as you like - there are 4000 of them on my website: http://www.flickr.com/photos/34621580@N00/.

Hi

Your question is a little bit unclear unfortunately so i am not really sure what you are asking. If you mean how was the British colonisation of NZ evident, yes place names are very obviously the first place to start.

Google Wellington our capital city and the nearby city of Lower Hutt. Much of Wellington was planned from England according to a map or plan. This did not take into account the hills and valleys of the city. Nor its weather patterns. Some places which looked good on a plan got washed away.

If you can think of further examples of what you are looking for for your homework it might be helpful :)

Good luck
