RSV?

If it is viral, you can only treat the symptoms and allow the virus to run its course.

They do not recommend treating most symptoms for infants your age, ie.. cold meds, decongestants, and so forth.

You can use a cool air humidifyer in your baby's room. This will help him breathe a bit easier. Try to make him comfortable and treat the symptoms. Viral infections do not respond to antibiotics so there is no reason for your child to take any. Go to your pharmacy and ask your pharmacist what decongestant is appropriate for your childs age.

TRY RELIEVING THE CONGESTION WITH COOL MIST VAPORIZOR....ASK THE DOC ABOUT MUCINEX FOR A BABY....IT WILL THIN THE FLEM AND HELP WITH THE CONGESTION....ALSO GIVE HIM PLENTY OF WATER AND CUT OUT THE MILK FOR A DAY OR SO AS THAT WILL PRODUCE MORE MUCUS...TRY GATORADE FOR BABIES AND KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE DOC. THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE THERE FOR...IF YOU CANNOT TALK TO THE DOC TRY THE HOSPITAL ER THEY WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS ON THE PHONE...AND SUGGEST REMEDIES KEEP THE BABY WARM AND DO NOT TAKE HIM OUT.

If nasal congestion, use bulb suction and salt water drops in the nose. Raise mattress head so he sleeps with head up a bit, helps with breathing. Don't panic.
