A "fishy" smell is a really good sign of BV (bacterial vaginosis). BV is NOT a STD. It's basically an imbalance of the "good" bacteria and the "bad" bacteria which are BOTH naturally found in the vagina. It is completely treatable and curable with prescription antibiotics like metronidazole (brand name: Flagyl) or clindamycin (brand name: Cleocin).

See your doctor as soon as possible and have them take a look at you. They will be able to properly diagnose you and offer/provide treatment for you. Good luck!

A fishy smell is one of the symptoms commonly associated with bacterial vaginosis. BV is the most common vaginal infection, and is caused by an overgrowth of certain bacteria in the vagina. It can be caused by having a new sex partner, or multiple partners, douching, etc. It could likely be brought on by a new soap.
Treatment involves antibiotics prescribed by your physician.

You can see your doctor to determine if you have BV, or some other issue.

Good luck!

Sounds like it is BV. I found a website that you might be interested in.

A grayish vaginal discharge could also be due to Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and may cause your discharge to be heavier than usual. Your vaginal discharge may become foamy or frothy and have an embarrassingly fishy odor. If your condition is due to BV, then you may want to try an effective natural alternative to antibiotics like Metronidazole that doctors give to patients when BV is the cause of feminine odor.

Just clean it. It's not an STD. There's a chance, if you've been having sex, but just clean it. The vagina has a lot of functions to get rid of bacteria, but it can never be eliminated, so just clean it with a very base soap. Dove, as you suggested, would be good. Zest is citrus, right? So, not so good. I'd say to stop using that.

I've had several girls that it's happen to. A doctor in Detroit said it's like a low form of clamitia--if spelled right. A man can carry it also and give it right back to a woman. There's an antibiotic that is given for it. Plus, too much semen in a woman's vagina can cause an odor to occur.

Sounds more like bacteria vaginosis. That is not an Std. BV is typically treated with antibiotic medication. Metronidazole (Flagyl) is the first-choice treatment for BV. But Ask your doctor.

A woman should not smell like fish, normally. They do a day after some guy has blown a load of semen into them, or if they have some kind of infection.
