There are advantages to both. But stuff shipped to a brick-and-mortar store uses packaging, not to mention gasoline, as well. However, you can make sure the clothes fit you and not worry about returning items you have bought. Carry your own bag, and you save there. I don't have a car, so I ride public transit.

Buying stuff online, you can shop almost any store in the world without using gasoline, except what is used to ship your goods. You can recycle the box in which your package was shipped.

So you fitted stuff, like business suits and swimsuits--the sort of things you have to try on--at a brick-and-mortar store. You can buy stuff like underwear, socks, t-shirts, SML-sized clothes online.

Most definately shopping online is healthier for the environment. How many times have you driven to 5 different locations to find what you're looking for?? When you shop online, you basically travel the globe to find what you're looking for without using any fuel. The mail carrier is already on that route, so it's no extra gas used for delivery.
Also, the neccessary cost of heat and electricity to run a storefront is avoided.
I love shopping online!
Good question.

Going (I mean, cycling or walking) to the second-hand shop would be the most environmentally-friendly option. Often you can find very stylish and exciting garments there, without driving consumerism and new production.

Oh, and don't forget to pick with you some old clothes that you're not going to wear anymore. Leave them at the store, sometimes you can even get some pennies for that! Reusing is even better than recycling! ;-) Good luck!

Physically going to the store is better. Yes the emissions from ur vehicle is a problem, but so is the emissions from the plane or truck transporting things to ur home. And if something doesn't fit, u have to send it back which means more packaging and transporting that could have been avoided.

I would say going to the store yourself, because that way you can try on the clothes and look in the mirror to see if your sexy or not. But making purchases online is a gamble, and that's extra gas thats going on the air with the shipping trucks.

Going to the store you use gas. You get your purchase in a bag. Shopping online someone needs to deliver it so there is still gas useage. Purchase comes in a box & packing material.

With that in mind, I'd say going to the store is better.
