Lack of potassium can lower your BP as the heart slow down and your BP falls, because of its effect on myocardium (heart muscles).
In case you have high potassium level, there can be cardiac arrest.

Depends on how high your pressure is, your age, your weight, your exercise habits, heredity etc. Also, if you have any history of heart disease, which potassium may effect. I'd opt for caution. Be careful taking potassium supplements. Too much potassium in your system is deadly.
Bananas are loaded in natural potassium. If you want to try it, natural is the best way to go.
