Can I put this on my 16 month old's chest to help her with her caugh???

I am not sure about putting the adult version on her chest, but there is an infant version of Vicks Vapor Rub (check the baby section of your pharmacy or supermarket - it's a pinkish jar).

Put the Vicks in a cup or glass, add boiling water and leave it in the baby bedroom near the cot.

I've heard you can put it on the soles of their feet and their coughs subside in minutes, and they sleep soundly.
