Chances are you'll be more susceptible to the affects of alcohol. Plus, the alcohol lessens the effects of the medications so they don't do what they were designed for. Wait a few days when you no longer need antibiotics and prednisone.

How should I take prednisone?
Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Take with food.
Your dosage needs may change if you have any unusual stress such as a serious illness, fever or infection, or if you have surgery or a medical emergency. Do not change your medication dose or schedule without your doctor's advice.
Measure liquid medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.
Do not crush, chew, or break a delayed-release tablet. Swallow it whole.
While using prednisone, you may need frequent blood tests at your doctor's office. Your blood pressure may also need to be checked.
This medication can cause unusual results with certain medical tests. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using prednisone.
You should not stop using prednisone suddenly. Follow your doctor's instructions about tapering your dose.
Wear a medical alert tag or carry an ID card stating that you take prednisone. Any medical care provider who treats you should know that you are using a steroid.
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Generally, it is not a good idea to mix alcohol with any medications. Some antibiotics are metabolized inthe liver, same as ethanol (the kind of alcohol you drink) you should not take them together to avoid liver damage (including the risk of death from acute liver failure). Prednisone is a steroidal medication, which weakens your immune system. It should never be taken with alcohol as this can really irritate your stomach when taken together. Both prednisone and ethanol can prolong bleeding time (because they decrease the stickiness of the blood platelets).
Stay a tea-totaler until you have completed your medications.

Do you mean prednisolone? Or is it prednisone?
Either way, my Boyfriend was taking it a little while back..he would have a drink here and there. They always say you shouldn't drink whilst taking any prescription medication, I can't see why Prednisone would be any different. Doesn't it have opiets in it??

I think that it tends to make the antibiotic ineffective which means you are weakening/missing the dosage for that day and you wont kill off the infection - instead you may actually make the infection more able to resist the antibiotic. This would be very bad because then you can't use antibiotics to get rid of it.

Some antibiotics will be negated by alcohol, which can result in antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Talk to your pharmacist.
