My husband is diabetic and no it should not bother anyone. If it does then you shouldn't waste your time. You deserve someone that accepts you as you are.

I know some guys might make a fuss ... but I've had a girlfriend who was vegetarian and who was very calorie conscious - she COULD eat sugar but refused to.
She was so picky that she wouldn't eat cheese made with animal rennet (I had to read the labels of the supermarket stuff).
I loved her to bits, despite all that. The relationship ended because of something totally different.

no, that wouldn't bother me at all. my husband can have sugar but if he couldn't then i would adjust my recipes to suit his needs. if you love someone, then nothing like that should matter, and don't be so self conscious about it, many people have the same problem as you, you can't help if you have a medical problem, i would be more self concious of being lazy or controling or possessive, stuff you can control. anybody who loves you will not care about that, all they will care about is your happiness and that your are healthy, and i'm sure they will do whatever it takes to keep you healthy.

If you don't make an issue of it, they won't, either. I'm diabetic too, and just quietly pick out what I can eat. If the waitress asks if I want dessert, I just smile and say, "No, thanks." It's a little like how people respond when they find out I'm epileptic. When they panic and say, "Oh, my God! What should I do if you have a seizure?!?" (happens all the time), I just say, "Make sure there's nothing sharp near me, then just let me breakdance." It makes them laugh, and suddenly it's not a big deal.

I am diabetic and it's not sugar I shouldn't eat -- it's all kinds of carbs. I am also lactose -intolerant, and have a friend who can't eat certain foods, either. Any guy who fixates on what you can and can't eat for health purposes isn't worth having. Don't worry about it.
