Has she been to the doctors? It may be that it's an infection and need anti biotics. If she has been seen by the doctor all you can do is try to make it more comfortable for her until it goes away. Young children pick up germs from everywhere. Try cough mixtures such as Tixylix, buttercup syrup, Calcough, benylin. If the cough is chesty, after you've had a bath or shower and they bathroom is steamy, get your daughter to sit in there for a little while, this helps to clear the airways. If you are worried go back to your GP, they are there to help.

Have you taken her to the doctor and checked that she doesnt have an infection that needs antibiotics? You could try using a humidifier in the house that could help her cough. Otherwise time is the best healer. Just keep her warm and a little lemon and honey to drink is good. My son used to have coughs that lasted 9, 10 weeks. He would vomit if he over exerted himself and I thought we really had trouble ahead. Since he turned 9 all the bad coughs have totally disappeared and that was 4 years ago! J

unfortunately, if it's the same thing that's going around up here, there's nothing to give for it. my youngins have had that bad cough for a couple weeks now, and they're not running a fever. the doc said it's viral, and there's nothing to do but wait it out. i tried tussin for the cough and sneezing, but it didn't seem to help.

try letting her sit in the bathroom with the hot shower running. the steam my help. also try getting decaf tea and making her a cup of warm tea. do not let her have milk or dairy. dairy is a mucous producer and that will just make the cough worse. good luck.

Sometimes a simple cough goes deeper than what the over-the-counter perscription can cure. You should take her to a doctor to get a stronger perscription. Be careful with coughs that last more than a week in the season of flu, staph, etc. Their little toddler bodies can't fight off infections as quickly as we can so they need the stronger dose of meds.

Hope she feels better.

You need to take her back to the doctor. Sounds like she has whooping cough. That takes quite awhile to get rid of, but it's very contagious. Make an appointment for her today.

Please take her to the pediatrician. 3 weeks is too long for a cough. I'm sure it's nothing, but have your dr. rule out allergies, pneumonia, etc.
