Is it possible to drain your tonsils?

Ive got terrible tonsilitis and the doctor gave me anti-biotics but it actually has got worse- they have swelled up even more and I can hardly breathe.
Is it possible to somehow drain my tonsils so they arent as swollen?
Also can I demand a tonsillectomy.as I get tonsilitis at least twice a year and it knocks me for six. At the moment Ive been ill for 2 weeks and still no sign of it getting better.

You need to get a second opinion and a stronger antibiotic. If you are getting Tonsillitis every year than they should have been removed a while ago. Please go as I'm sure there are other health risks related to this especially as your body appears to be developing a tolerance to antibiotics.

I have heard of white spots on the tonsils. Nothing ever to do with sweets. But that doesn't mean its not true. I would say witrh pus then there is an infection which would need antibiotics. You've done the best step you possibly could have, calling the doctor. Good luck.

This is a minor surgery, I would drop the doctor you are seeing it sounds like you need a New One.
And NO They Don't Drain Tonsils they remove them.

Tonsils are not something that can be drained. They need to be removed.
