I once had a birthday picnic in Australia where I only made American food. None of the Aussies had had Sloppy Joes (where I'm from, they're also called barbeque... but that's just weird)...
1/2 kilo mince
1 c. ketchup (yes ketchup not tomato sauce hahah!!)
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp vinegar
1 Tbsp Worchesterchire sauce
1 Tbsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp (or less) chili powder
bit of onion powder
Directions: Fry mince and drain fat. Add rest of ingredients, mix well. Serve in hamburger buns.
Additionally - don't add other toppings! The Aussies at my picnic kept putting cheese and lettuce in theirs, and I was just like "nonono!!"

the hamburger is very american. get some ground meat or chuck and make it into a pattie. barbeque it, season it, and put it in a bun with a slice of american cheese, pickles, lettuce, onions and mayonaise. then get some potatoes and cut them up into strings and fry them up so you have some french fries. of course i assume you probably already have that type of food their, but thats one of the most american foods i can think of. then there are hot dogs but those are easy. pretty much the same concept. american's like barbeque.
Pizza is something that was originally italian but we have americanized it big time. it is quite possibly the most popular american food there is. i don't know how to make it like the restaurants though.
Thanksgiving foods are very unique to the american culture!!! Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, ham, canned yams, green bean casserole. Only problem is I don't know how to make any of that.

The best tasting fries are the ones that my boyfriend makes, they just melt in your mouth and you will never want to get fast food fries every again. Slice thinly a potato, put seasoning salt on the slices and then put the slices into hot oil on the stove (canola will work).

Tuna hotdish.
If you like tuna you can boil up some of the squiggly pasta. When done, drain it. Add one can of tuna, one can of cream of mushroom soup, and one can of either corn or pea's. Mix it all up and add salt and pepper. I grew up eating it and think it's delicious! Super easy to make!
